Vehicle Detail
Despite the high miles, this car is in great shape. It was purchased in late August of 2012, and I'm the original owner (non-smoker). At 90k miles I charged it full and drove until the battery shutdown was tripped, which yielded a useable range of 71kWH - about 86% of original useable battery pack capacity. It still shows about 240-250 range miles when charged full, but it can only really do about 227 EPA miles (versus 265 when it was new). Based on the cycle life curve for the Panasonic batteries, the car is likely to deliver range in excess of a new 60 kWH vehicle beyond the 150k mile point. The car has an A battery pack as it was one of the first few hundred Model S vehicles produced, which means it charges a little slower than new cars at the Supercharging stations (90kW max rate). The new 19" turbine wheels were purchased with Goodyear Eagles at the 85k service visit, so all four tires have been driven about 6k miles. On a past set of these tires I was able to drive 35k miles without tire rotations before they needed replacement. This car was winner of the 2013 BC2BC Electric Car Rally from Canada to the Mexican Border. The rear window decal was mounted on plexiglass (there are a few wrinkles and air bubbles) and taken to Teslive where Elon Musk signed it after his presentation. I'm including this along with the car. The car was also entered in the 2014 Silver State Classic Challenge (an 90-mile open road rally in Nevada) where it placed #1 in the 95 mph category and clocked at 123 mph in the half-mile shootout event. Tesla's 8-year warranty on the drivetrain and battery will transfer to the new owner and will be good until late August in 2020. For everything else I have an extended warranty that runs to 100k miles. In theory it is transferable to the new owner, but state laws apply and only Tesla can say for sure. In the event that it's not transferrable, I'm willing to pay out of pocket to have the 96k service done early. All known upgrades and problems were resolved with the 85k service visit. Significant past service work has included modifications to the rear liftgate seals (first 10k miles), replacement of the main drivetrain at 44k miles (it had the "hum" problem), replacement of the windshield (around 60k miles), and new sunroof tracks at 85k (it would not open). The mobile charger is a newer replacement at around 60k miles; it has had heavy use and is scratched in a number of place but works just fine. The winning bidder is required to put down a $2000 deposit via paypal within 48 hours. Final payment must occur within 21 days and be in the form of a cashiers check (I'm allowing extra time due to the holidays and my own business travels). Buyer must pick up the car in Reno or arrange to have it shipped.
