Vehicle Detail
We are selling a very nice virtually rust free 2000 F550 utility bed truck. This truck had a new knapheide 9' bed installed spring of 2012. At the same time we had the injectors replaced, new HPOP, and a regulated return fuel system installed, this is suppose to help with cold weather starting reliability and so far it seems like it was a great choice. Last winter was bitterly cold and this truck did not give an ounce of trouble. After these upgrades were made we were unhappy with the fuel mileage we were getting with the new bed being weighed down and the incredibly high gear ratio of these 550's. It was suggested to us by the tire shop to install 22.5" rims and semi tires to counteract the gearing and to increase our average tire life from the 40k miles we had been getting. With the 22.5's the average fuel economy has increase to 12mpg and all highway has stretched as far as 15mpg. towing has not been a problem with any trailer we have up to the max capacity for these trucks. The interior of this truck is in very good condition and is very clean for a daily work truck, no sun damage to the dash and no sagging ceiling. The shift lever and linkage was just rebuilt and is nice and tight and falls right into gear as it should. There is a boss plow receiver and wiring already installed on the truck. We used this truck to plow only the drive at our shop, it has never been used commercially as a plowing truck. The truck has 157,400 miles on it currently but is still being used daily to the toll of about 90 miles a day. overall a very good, solid, and strong truck that has many more years of work in it. The body is in great shape, no dents in the cab and the only issue with the paint is where there used to be a bug deflector installed on the hood. Another deflector could be installed and would cover all of this. Thank you for your interest and let me know if you have any more questions.
