Drop dead gorgeous Pearl Metallic Red 93 Allante with the Northstar. This is the car that General Motors chose to be the pace car at the 1992 Indianapolis 500 (see photo) for good reason. They had finally gotten these cars right, and what a great way to introduce the 300-horsepower Northstar to the public. In 1993 this was the fastest American production car in existence….substantially faster than the Corvette..with a reported 0-60 of 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph. Now I cannot verify this car still goes 140, but take my word for it this one still accelerates at 120..as verified on the Ohio Turnpike last month on a trip from Chicago. Let's talk about that trip for a moment. With the top up,these cars are truly all Cadillac. At a sticker price of $63,000 they better be! But the 93's have those incredibly comfortable Eldorado seats covered in soft leather with lumbar. The top has the power latch front and back and the top itself is a really nice black canvas. Put it all together and you have the ultimate cruiser. Everything works: Cadillac Automatic Temperature Control, Cruise control, power seats, stereo (not the CD) great anti-lock breaks, a trunk bigger than most sedans, power windows..everything! Oh that's right, I always do full disclosure. The passenger window is slow up and down…probably needs lubrication. Smooth, fast and comfortable. Put the top down and all bets are off. The handling and ride are exceptional, and the rumble from the 32 valve dual overhead cam is a sound to behold. But enough. I bought this car as a winter project car and now find there is nothing left to fix. It has brand new Goodyear Eagles ($ 800) all the way around, and the $1,500 optional chrome rims for a truly classic look. The paint is flawless, the leather has a little wear on the drivers side, and the dash is a little dark in one area that you have to look really carefully to see it. Top is perfect. Car has a new radiator, I just replaced the cam sensor and the Ignition control module (not cheap i tell you) and the battery. Just passed Ohio emission testing with flying colors. Gets 25 mpg verified on the road End result is it drives great,shifts without hesitation, and if you are in the mood, roars on command. Does not overheat or smoke or use any fluids, Got some new projects I am working on, so this baby has to go. Need the space in the garage. I would drive it anywhere, or you can have it shipped. Either way I have decided to go with no reserve, so make your bid in confidence. This car is not going to last on ebay. Check out my 100% approval rating, and understand this is my tenth Allante. Just love these cars. With the chromes this is without question the prettiest one they made. They saved this color for their last year and sold only 1,000 of them. You will not be disappointed. Now lets talk price. I just sold a 93 with 65,000 miles on it for $6,800 and it did not have the chrome wheels…so I realistically believe this one will bring about the same. But to move it out of the garage and keep peace in the household I have put a very fair starting price on this one. I believe that $4,900 is the lowest price of any quality Allante on the market today. Remember, no reserve. Happy Bidding.
