I purchased this 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee Coupe/Post with 383 Automatic Bench seat Column Shift muscle car from the original owner in June 26, 2003 who bought it new from the dealer in Everett WA the day he returned home from the Vietnam war on January 8, 1970. A neighbor saw my 69 coronet 500 a had at the time in my driveway and tipped me off about the Super Bee 5 blocks away that could not be seen from the street. I went to the house and knocked on the door and no answer. I took some photos of the car(see above i uploaded a few of them) and left. went to the house a few times until the long gray bearded man finally answered the door. Of course he said it's not for sale, so I was patient and just talked to him about the car and he told me many stories of mostly being chased through Everett WA by the police and told me the dealer tried to sell him a Bee with buckets and he had to have one with a bench so his girlfriend could sit close by his side while he was "hot rodding". He took care of the regular maintenance like oil, lubes, filters etc. for many many years until something went wrong with the fuel. When I asked him if it started or ran he opened the trunk and grabbed this clear fuel hose that was attached to the fuel line through a rust hole in the trunk and stuffed it through the lid of a folgers can full of gas and she fired right up, so we agreed on a price and I drove it home all but 5 blocks away from my house with the folgers can gas tank. It needs restoring, He kept it parked under the trees in in his yard so it has rust in many of the typical B-body places like trunk/ floor pans/rear window/ rear quarters. The gas tank was full of rust so I was able to find a 69 super bee tank at a junk yard(Receipt of that included) and it had no rust so I Bought a Bill Hirsch gas tank resto kit,cleaned and lined the tank painted the outside with rust kill spray paint in black but its missing the float so gas gauge not working. It runs and drives great! Even on the Freeway! Message for more photos if desired.
