Vehicle Detail

1976 CB550K third owner 29k miles in un-restored original condition. No reserve with clear title. Condition - Very Good early production CB550 K2 Super clean but not a show bike. That said it is a un-restored survivor - meaning typical to a 38 year old bike there always issues with owning an old bike. Maintenance has been kept up but there are some condition details to explain. There is some fading on the top of the gas tank (looks like gas run off) but the paint is the original Candy Garnet Brown! The side covers have a few small scraps but no cracks also in Candy Garnet Brown. Emblems, tank and side covers are in good condition with all tabs in place. All the trim is present and the original seat foam is not blown out however the "Honda" lettering on the seat is a little faded. The exhaust pipes are original and in really good shape with just a small scrape on the #4 pipe below the motor (can only be seen on a motor lift). Recently pulled the carbs, soda blasted the bodies, cleaned everything and re-assembled. Engine is original to the bike # CB550E-1075851. Tires are good but slightly aged. Original purchased in 2011 for my wife to tag along on our vintage Honda rides in and around the Washington DC area. She put about a thousand miles on her and then we decided to have a baby. This bike, and my 1973 CB750k for that matter, have been sitting on a battery tender in the garage ever since. Bike has original owners manual but no tool kit. We're are selling this for no reserve so the highest bidder takes it. I can help load on a truck, trailer or if you willing you can ride it away. Not much else to say about the bike other than it rides really well and draws a crowd this second its parked. I have a great story about transporting this bike home after purchasing her to share with the winner. Good luck bidding On Nov-23-14 at 17:32:03 PST, seller added the following information: Hello - A keen eBayer noticed the small dent in the gas tank that I failed to mention. It's not that noticeable but it's there and probably can be corrected by paintless dent removal. The condition inside the tank itself is good/excellent. Bike runs and stops. I added a picture with the dent which is around 4pm in that picture. On Nov-27-14 at 12:13:04 PST, seller added the following information: Happy Thanksgiving eBayers! I got booted out of the kitchen so I figured I'd pull the bike out take a few more pictures, add a little more detail about the bike and wash last years dust off. LightsAll the lights work including the indicator lights in the gauges. The warning buzzer for the turn signals is not working. The lens covers on all the lights are sound with no cracks. The brake hoses are original and in good shape with the original OEM writing still visible on them. MirrorsThe rear view mirrors are both intact; however, the chrome on the left mirror handle is starting to pit. Controls & HandlebarsControls all work and are original to the bike. Control anodizing is good but slightly faded on the left control. Handbars are original to the bike and the chrome appears to be good. I see two very small holes drilled into the bars next to the left hand control...not sure why they are there? Like something was mounted there? IDK. FendersThe fenders are straight and sound. The undersides of both are presentable and the chrome is good. O&M stickers are still present on the rear fender. PipesAll four pipes are in really good shape. The only additional issue to mention is some slight chrome flaking on #3 towards the exhaust exit and some slight surface rust on #3 where #4 covers it. I think you can get in there and clean it up if you took #4 off though. FrameFrame paint is in really nice shape. A lot of the original yellow factory paint dabs are still present. I don't see any surface rust really worth mentioning. Frame stickers appear to be intact but I'm not sure all of them are there. Pegs are all there and all the rubbers are intact. Kick stand and center stand are there and functional. Swing arm has no slop. Engine & TransmissionCarbs have been bench sync'd only and but probably could stand to be correctly vacuum synchronized. Honestly - the bike should get a full tune up if you plan to ride it. The only engine leak I found is from the shifter gasket. Bike doesn't use oil. I lubed the chain and its within good mechanical limits. The transmission shifts fine, the clutch as been adjusted and there are NO dead gears nor does it pop out of gear when riding. BatteryHas held a charge fine since I've owned it. Maybe consider replacing depending on your plans for the bike. Thanks for all the questions and interest in the bike. If you have additional any questions please ask and I'll get right back to you.
