Vehicle Detail
2006 Toyota Prius, appx 140K miles, restored salvage title. Bought the car as a commuter car to drive to sw states for work. Have put a ton of money and now the car has a transmission problem. The car does move (with the electric motor), but the transmission does not start the car. The engine is free and does turn, but the transmission won't turn the engine (I guess that is how the car starts using the transmission generator?). The car looks good and ran great. I have driven it all over the southwest and have done a ton of maintenance. I just bought a new camry and am done putting money into this car ($12K plus). I'm selling at a no reserve auction. The car has a restored title in my name. The title shows 62K miles and the odometer now has 79K (I've had the car a little over a year). The car fax does show (along with accidents) an odometer discrepancy. So, factoring in the car fax, the car appears to have around 140K. This is what has been done to the car:Bought car $7200Refurb hybrid battery $2000instrument cluster $800 (even thought the car fax shows it was replaced, I had to have it repaired)Engine and transmission replacement $2400 The transmission had a leak caused by a crack in the case. I found a donor car with a engine transmission (you have to pull the engine to get the transmission case off) and only 30K miles. I had a transmission shop "go through" the transmission and it was put back together. Now, the transmission won't work. The transmission guy won't look at it unless I have it pulled the transmission (another $1K). I'm done with it. It was a very good car until I decided to fix the leak. The hybrid battery has a warranty on it until November 2015. Car is sold as is with no warranty. Car is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Buyer is responsible for shipping. We will assist with loading. The car does move (by electric motor only), so not a problem. The car must be picked up Monday through Friday 7am - 4pm MST. It is at a shop in Central Phoenix. Payment is due 3 days after auction has closed. Deposit of $500 is due 24 hours after auction has closed. Thank you! will add interior and engine pictures on Monday. On Nov-17-14 at 09:37:59 PST, seller added the following information: Added pictures of interior and engine. The car has been in a dirt lot for a couple of weeks and is really dusty, but it does clean up nice. the interior is in very good shape for it's age. It does not have any rips or cracks anywhere. The car does look very good (minor dings and dents for age). I do have the original engine and trans if you want it. I took the car to a hybrid specialist and he thought the transmission was missing a part. I can provide the other one, so you should just have labor to deal with. Thanks. On Nov-17-14 at 12:27:02 PST, seller added the following information: Also, had question about the transmission and the restored/salvaged title. The transmission issue was not caused by the accident. I bought the car with this title and drove it almost 20K miles. I replaced the transmission which had a leak caused by a crack in the case (believed to be caused by the accident). Just wanted to clarify.
