Vehicle Detail
With deepest regrets, I need to sell my '77 Champagne Edition VW bus, I bought it in the spring with the intention of getting her running and my family and I enjoying many family holidays in it. I bought her on Ebay, the previous owner left out MANY details which I was not aware of, some I have fixed, others I have not. So, I'll start with the basics, the engine turns over just fine but there appears to be a fuel issue and does NOT ignite. Aside from the engine starting but not igniting, the rear window seal will need to be replaced, it leaks in heavy rain. The previous owner had a sunroof installed but broke due to UV damage and since "repaired" this with a black plastic tarp. The middle seat has been sold and the PO discarded the original front seats with something found at the local junkyard. The heater tube from the exchangers has been deleted due to severe rust. So onto what I have done, the fuel and oil have been drained and every inch of fuel line been replaced, along with clamps, fuel and oil filters, oil, battery cables, new battery, replaced the points, checked the timing and compression (all good), replaced the engine compartment seal, replaced the spark plugs (bright blue not yellow), but no ignition. It has a brand new double relay, all fuses are fine, fuel injectors are new, new engine fan hoses, new ignition coil, distributor cap, condensor, and ignition coil. Still it won't ignite. It could just need a new fuel pump or I've read Bosch sometimes has faulty fuel relays - I really don't know, I'm no mechanic and frankly, my wife's been patience until now but it's gotta go! The rear tires are round, black and made of rubber but the front two are brand new. There is a spare. Simply I have ran of money. I had visions of painting her reef blue and white and having great vacations down in Ocean City but I've recently started a new job and my wife wants an SUV :( I'll add more pictures over the weekend of course. The drivers seat is from Busted Bus, passanger seat is for 1976 VW bus and doesn't align with the '77. New front tires are from CIP1.com but everything else is from Bus Depot. On Nov-14-14 at 12:22:15 PST, seller added the following information: I've had alot of emails asking for a Buy It Now price or whether I'll close the bidding early. No sorry, it's on auction. It's a clean title under my name. Van sold with several items I haven't had the chance to add yet. Transmission fluid and gasket, eyelids for the front headlights, spare tire mount, manuals (Bentley's and John Muir's), the rear cargo door has a new seal by the way, the front doors both have new lock and keys (it didn't come with any when I bought it!), I can't think of anything else. If your close by your welcome to come and look at it though I can't promise I'll be here to open her up for you.
