The 71 Chevy Nova was my much loved project car about 15 years ago. Had to get used to the fact that it had no power steering, power windows, or A/C. What it did have was a lot of get up and go. Had it appropriately paint painted metallic "fireball" red, replaced the 6-cylinder with a brand new 350 8 cylinder, straight off the crate from the local GMC dealership. The body is straight with about 140k body miles over its life, but only approximately 50k engine miles with the 350. Soon after I had the new engine put in, I had AMCO Transmission install a rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission. The additional power necessitated replacing the rear axle. Midas gave it dual exhaust w/chrome tips and air shocks. Finishing touches included an Edelbrock hi-performance carburetor and K&N air filter. Never got around to improving the interior or replacing the electrical. Was used as a commuter car for work. As I started a family, the project got put in the garage where it has been for the last 9 years, protected from the elements. That said, it is currently not running and I haven't the time or money to find out why. It has a couple flat tires. The paint is starting to peel on the roof and trunk. The interior is in poor condition. Some rust on the wheels. Body is straight, chrome bumpers in great shape. If there's anything you want pictures of, just tell me. With some engine maintenance, a few minor replacement parts, and TLC she'll be running again in no time.
