Vehicle Detail
Have you ever wanted to outrun a 350Z around a race track in something the exact same color as an electric blue fruit roll-up that can also haul 2 motorcycles with a 110v AC plug in the bed and is bombproof reliable? ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should be friends. Thusly I have to offer you this 2005 Toyota X-Runner. I bought it as the perfect track truck to haul my race motorcycles back and forth to the track on the weekends. Sadly I have decided that this piece of awesome engineering is wasted on me as I just dont drive it enough with my new job. This truck will literally do everything you could think of with style asside from hauling a million pounds or driving off road. It doubles as a car, a cure for boredom, a solution for lack of friends, a path towards greatness, a good way to spend your evenings and weekends, a reliable mode of transportation, an item hauler, a confidence booster, and last but not least a good reason to spend your money. All while being Toyota reliable. In fact the 2015 Tacomas STILL use the same engine and transmission. That is over a decade of production without 1hp of power change in the specs, which is almost unheard of due to the ever evolving and increasing emissions requirements that have killed many engines. The 1GR-FE is a gem, the GR V6 engine series has been used in almost every Toyota and Lexus made over the past decade including the Lotus Exige, and Evora (still used to this day, there is a reason Lotus uses Toyota engines, the Evora V6 is largely unchanged from a Toyota Sienna mini-van engine). That being said the truck needs nothing, I bought it from the first owner through a dealer on consignment and have barely put any miles on it. I got it bone stock and did a few tasteful mods to it with quality parts just to enhance the fun factor. All services have been done by the book (owners manual) to a T, most of them at the dealer. It has been garaged its whole life, and has never been wrecked. I had the paint checked out by a bodyshop friend and only the tailgate has been painted, presumably due to a scratch or rock chips. Without further delay lets talk details. This is the best handling production truck ever sold in north america, period end of story. It came from the factory with an X-Brace frame and suspenions hence the name X-Runner, it isnt just a gimmick like most sport trucks. The actual frame was modified to promote better handling. It has a real LSD rear diff not some electronic brake control crap. It has an Aisin 6-Speed manual transmission (bomb proof) with a V6 drop out 3rd member Toyota rear axle tha has 4 spider gears (you're not going to break it) and the fuel injectors/stock ecu support the TRD Supercharger kit with few mods. Yes you can make it a warrantied factory supercharged truck if you want easily pushing towards 400hp. Bilstein shocks etc..... The truck is a breeze to drive, here is a short list of the parts ive put on. Dynomax bolt on cat back black with polished tip Slotted/cross drilled front rotors with EBC pads TacoX Cold Air intake w/heatshield that molds with the hood TRD Shift knob made specifically for these trucks Mechanical: Mechanically the truck needs nothing. Drives perfect, has no issues. 4 wheel laser alignment done recently, no vibrations, trans shifts perfect, never ground a gear I swear. Pulls very strong, sounds great but is still quiet (nothing annoying). Everything works as it should. I mean come on its a 2005 Toyota, I have a 1985 Toyota in my driveway that is mechanically in about the same condition. Nothing to worry about. This thing is also very easy to work on, oil filter could not be easier to get to, do your own maintenance, it might as well have a hole in the hood to access it without opening the hood. Interior: I'm pretty sure TRD made a shift knob just for these trucks because the stock shift knobs were garbage, they all failed in short order, leather peeled right off of them, the truck's only fault really. Other than that replacement the interior is 9.5/10 easily. Any questions ask me. Exterior: Has a few rock chips here and there, yes it was driven at REAL RACE TRACKS (not on them but around them). And as I mentioned above the tail gate was painted at some point but you'd never be able to tell unless you work for a body shop, OEM quality stuff was used. There might be a ding i'm not remembering but other than the couple rock chips ive seen the exterior is an easy 9/10, the headlights were replaced due to yellowing in the stock plastic lenses. Bedliner is great, the bed is super useful with the 110v outlet. Every light, every feature works like new. I dare you to find a more descriptive and honest X-Runner listing on ebay, i've got nothing to hide. The goal here is to be as up front as possible about the truck, you're more than welcome to hit me up any time @ 828-674-6959 if you have additional questions or want to come look at hit. This is a no reserve auction! Whatever it goes for it goes for, thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
