Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1968 VW Beetle for sale, starts, runs, drives, stops fine. Solid original floors. No rust! Less than 2000 miles on rebuilt engine, new tires, new brakes, and many other new parts. This is a nice old car from 10 feet away; it is not a show car. The car is licensed, insured and has been driven weekly this summer. In September the car was driven 250 miles for a car club one day cruise with no problem and no oil usage. You can drive it home. Selling because I have too many cars and am old. See the video at: http://www.youtube.com/embed/7LXcf1gcFQM Located near Hannibal, MO. Call for details. 573-406-9740. Please do not text, I am old and my phone is not smart. Want more details, see the following: Rebuilt 1600 cc engine (including line bored case) New tires New brake shoes New wheel cylinders New master cylinder (not rebuilt) New rubber brake hoses New exhaust New heater control cables (heater works, heater channels are good) New clutch and clutch cable New starter New gas tank New outer axel boots All four axel constant velocity joints cleaned and repacked New headliner but poorly installed, has a lot of wrinkles New padded dash Most of the floor pan coated both sides (the only rust was under the battery, old metal cut out and replaced using a lap joint) One new tie rod end (others are good, this one was only slightly worn) New rubber around doors, trunk, and engine bonnet New rubber around windows and new window scrapers Good extra large battery (age unknown) Things that you should know: Has the late ’68 and ’69 on IRS rear suspension Exterior paint shines, driver quality, no rust, no bubbles, a couple of road rash chips (some paint left in original can if color code is needed in the future,) Four way flashers do not work (signal lights work fine) Front left parking light not working Later model 12 volt alternator with internal regulator Later model more effective “dog house” oil cooler Later model carburetor Engine is still single port as used in 1968 but may not be the original one Transmission works great, shifts nice, never jumps out of gear, does not leak but does have a howl (not a growl) on deceleration. No noise on acceleration. A mechanic said this is not a problem. The transmission is clean and painted. It may have been rebuilt at some point. Occasionally a drop or two of engine oil is left on the floor but no major leaks.
