The body and interior are in great condition and it shows very well. The tires have plenty of tread left and the car does start, but it stalls sometimes in park and every time it is put into gear so it is not driveable. It shows a P0301 code (#1 cylinder misfire). I replaced the coil packs, spark plugs, and plug wires (about $300 worth of parts), but it did not fix the issue. If you buy this car, you should assume the worst and plan for engine rebuild or replacement. I have seen rebuilt engines on eBay for $2500 and the local machine shops can rebuild the current engine for less than that (assuming it is rebuildable). This would be a great project for someone with the time and talent (or if you know someone with the time and talent that will do the work for a reasonable price. Very low miles for the year of vehicle and the RX-8 is a beautiful car.
