Vehicle Detail
Here's a chance to get great gas mileage - probably around 40 mpg - without spending a ton of money. This Geo Metro has 108,000 miles, which is low considering the year. These cars are rare. As I mentioned, they're great on gas and they're front wheel drive, too! You just don't see these Geo Metros in the Northeast. Somebody told me they had a tendency to rust if not cared for. That may be true; and that may be why they seem to have disappeared from the Northeast. This one is a Tennessee car that I brought north last year. I had fun driving it around a bit. But I'm alone and I already own a few vehicles and so this one isn't needed. It has a new roof, new paint job, and the engine was completely gone over before I brought it to Pennsylvania. It has lots of pep - and everyone admires it. It's inspected until mid next year. It also has the original Delco radio/cassette player. But that's not a good thing because it's absolutely the worst radio I've ever seen. It fades in and out but is mostly out. It's equivalent to having no radio at all. I'm not a radio person and so this didn't bother me; but most folks, I think, would want to take out the original radio and put in something that actually works. The car also is equipped with air conditioning but it's not hooked up or charged. Again, the new owner might want to do that. Depends how you want to use it. (Imagine a little convertible with a/c? Go figure.) I think this inexpensive, practical vehicle would be a great first car for a teenager. It also might be a good prospect for the "tuner generation." What a great car to jazz up and customize! Or else use it as-is since it's original. It's simple in its design and the engine is easily accessible. The man who reconditioned this vehicle put 15" tires on it. They look very nice but can rub if you hit a depression in the road. I left them on because it didn't bother me and they look nice. But I think 14" tires would be better. I actually have four 14" tires that I'd throw in. They're mounted on wheels but would need to be put on the correct size rims that fit this particular vehicle. In any case, the winning bidder would be welcome to take those tires, mounted, as a bonus. And, by the way, the tires that are on the car right now are perfectly fine. The interior is also in decent shape considering the age of the vehicle. It's not perfect but you'd be hard pressed to find one in better shape. I'm an older single adult, a nonsmoker and no pets whatsoever, and no children. The car is located about 12 miles south of Hazleton, Pa. My phone is 570 691-1618. If I'm out of the house, feel free to leave a message. Again, you can do your own research and you'll see how hard it is to find a nice, clean NO RUST Geo Metro like this. Well that's about it. An honest description on a nice, old classic 1991 Geo Metro that achieves outstanding gas mileage without all of the computers and crazy stuff they're putting on cars today. Because of the outstanding MPG, this car will likely appreciate in value. Thanks for looking.
