Vehicle Detail

Getting rid of a 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXi convertible for parts. Approximately 150,000 miles (240,000 km). We've owned the car since new but it's not worth for us to put money in it to keep it. The car runs but because of a problem with the brakes (see below) is not drivable at the moment and will need to be towed. I reconnected the battery today and it started right up. The brake pedal goes right to the floor though. Also it's making quite a bit of smoke. I suspect the head gasket is leaking. The car was basically fully loaded and the only option it didn't have was '4-wheel disk brakes with traction control'. - 2.5 V6 with automatic transmission w/ autostick - power cloth soft top. Top is in decent shape (about 10 years old) and rear glass is only 2 or 3 years old. - leather interior. Front seats are cracking. - Infinity sound system (amp is missing and CD changer currently not working (easy fix if you want it, I just never used it so never bothered fixing it)). - Homelink garage door opener. - trailer hitch - 16" alloy wheels The car does run but there are a number of issues: 1. The brakes are not functional because it has a leak at the ABS hydraulic control unit. Car cannot be driven until this is fixed. 2. The ABS didn't work when the brakes were working (Bad sensors all around) 3. Windshield is cracked along the bottom of the glass (basically along the wipers). 4. Tires are worn down 5. Starting to have a bit of rust on body 6. Front seats are cracking 7. Seems to burn quite a bit of oil. Maybe it was just oil spilled during last oil change but I think it's probably leaking from head gasket. 8. A/C doesn't work 9. Very noisy exhaust. I believe the muffler is only a few years old but it was very loud when I ran it today so I suspect there's a leak somewhere in the system. I've been told that the brakes are probably relatively easy to fix but it's just not worth the money for me to have it done given the age and wear on the car. Other than the issues listed above, everything else worked fine so I'm hoping someone can have some use of it rather than just bringing it to the wrecker. The AutoCheck is showing clean but that's only because it doesn't seem to get all the info from Canada. It was in an accident around 2000 and the rear quarter panel was replaced / fixed as well as the rim and presumably some of the rear suspension components (It think it was about $3k for the repair. Worked done a Chrysler Dealership in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). The front spoiler is pretty broken up (you can see the tape on that I was using to hold it together. There's also some rust on the fenders and a bit on the bottom of the driver door. Under the car, I believe there's a lot of rust. The reason I'm listing it for parts is that it has a Canadian registration (Ontario) and I do not have a US title for it. I'm not sure what's involved in getting a US title but I believe it might need to be brought to a US border (i.e. driving to US / Canada or US / Mexico border). I'll do some research but the buyer should assume that it can't be registered in the US without being driven to the border. That said, I'll gladly assist the buyer to get a title if there's anything I can do. FWIW, I called Pinellas County Tax Collector on Oct 24 2014 and they said that all that would need to be done to get a Florida Title and registration is take the Ontario Registration which is signed over in the buyer's name and the car to a Florida DMV (813-612-7110) for VIN inspection and once that's verified, you can get a FL title and reg. This is what I was told today but I've never tried it myself. It appears to be easy but I cannot guarantee that this is correct so a prospective buyer may want to confirm this. Since it is a Canadian vehicle the odometer is in kilometers and the speedometers has KM/H in the outer circle and MPH in the inner circle. A video of it running can be seen here: http://youtu.be/wCIP5nGTgvg (sorry about the poor quality, I only had my phone with me to shot it). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
