Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here I have a 1948 Ford Super Deluxe 8 sedan coupe as they were called by ford when new. These coupes have a back seat and longer doors unlike the business coupes. The car has a clear Ks title that matches the frame vin and keys that fit the ignition and trunk. The car has an 8BA Flathead V8 that is free but I haven't heard it run because rats made a mess of the wiring so it was removed. It has the factory three speed on the column and all of its original frame and suspension. The frame appears to be very solid with no rust out. The sheet metal on the car is actually very solid for a car of this age thats been sitting out. Really the only rust through that I can find in it is the trunk and the drivers side rocker panel. Everything else appears to be very solid other than the black rear passenger fender on it that has quite a bit of filler in it but there is a solid primed fender included with the car. The drivers front fender has some thin filler in it from a dent many years ago but its not bad. There are dents in the deck lid and the drivers side cowl but they should be able to be removed with a stud gun. The panel below the trunk is also bent up some. The rest of the car is straight and solid. The gril has been of the car and the stainless was removed and the steel part of the grill was primed. The stainless on the grill has dings in it but could be straightened out by any good stainless guy. Theres also a few spare pieces of grill stainless. The rear glass is the only glass that looks good enough to use on a redone car but if you're wanting to build a rat rod you will probably only need to come up with door glass because they are broke. The gauges and clock on the car actually look quite nice compared to the look of the rest of the car. The steering wheel does have cracks in it. The doors and trunk open, close and latch like they should. The hood opens and closes but doesn't latch because its been removed but its included. The car comes with multiples of some parts like 4 pair of tailight trim and 46, 47, and 48 Ford front marker lights so pick what you like and sell whats left. The car has the aluminum rocker moldings and stainless as well as another pair of rocker stainless but it all needs straightened out. The car does not have all of its stainless trim for the hood and fenders. The car rolls and steers but doesn't stop. All of the spare parts pictured are included with the car and will fit inside of it for transport. The car is selling with no reserve and if for sale locally so the auction may end at anytime before a bid is placed. If it doesn't sell the first time around I will pull the flathead and trans and sell them separate from the car. I also have a 425 Buick nailhead, Turbo 400 transmission and 45 fin aluminum brake drums off of the same 64 Riviera that I would sell for an additional $1000 if the buyer wanted more stop and go power. I will deliver the car personally within 250 miles of Ottawa, Ks for $1.25 per loaded mile but for distances longer than that you can contact Ryan @ ASAP Transport 913-201-0133. Thanks and good luck bidding.
