Vehicle Detail

My rolling project for the past year. A new project is on its way and I need the space. This is a no reserve auction for a Classic 900 convertible that is perfectly serviceable today but still has some finishing touches remaining. The Good - Engine starts first time, does not overheat and pulls strongly. APM is set below factory spec for boost, giving the turbo an easier life to preserve longevity. Roof is in excellent condition with a glass back window and the interior is, I think fairly typical for a car this age. Driver seat is a little worn, but in general the seats are very good. Brand new tires on the original alloys, brand new OEM SS exhaust. Recent 100% replacement of all brake lines with SS upgraded versions. Pads and Rotors have less than 10k on them. Brand new Battery, brand new vacuum hoses and fittings. Oil change & service regularly by local SAAB specialist. $1.5k of work in the past 12 months. Electrics operate well, all windows, aerial etc are in good working order. Even the interior lights work, which is next to miraculous. Unlike some of the vintage, you can get stuck in traffic in 100 degree heat. You might fry but the engine doesnt, all fans / cooling etc are 100% working. The roof was replaced within the past 15k, and its in very nice shape with no rips or tears. Waterproofed professionally, it does its job well. The less good - Steering rack leaking. I keep it topped up and have no issue, the purist would want to swap it out to avoid the mess on the garage floor. ABS sensor needs to be replaced on the passenger side front - throws an ABS code currently. Electric roof switch and / or relay needs replacing. Currently I open the roof manually, but the vehicle comes with the parts necessary to restore operation of the electric roof The pump operates flawlessly, no issues there. Cruise control is moody - sometimes it works, sometimes not. AC is operable but has not been converted for modern refrigerant and does not blow cold. Heated seats work like the cruise - when they feel like it. Speaking of which, the CD player does not work, and the Cassette chooses when to let you have a tape back. I strongly suspect you'll be enjoying the same tape I am currently.... Bodywork is decent but not perfect by any stretch. Check out the photos - this is an honest car, 20+ years old that I use as pretty much a daily driver. I have something more exotic on its way and need the space - enjoy it as much as I have!
