Vehicle Detail
For your consideration is this rare 1970 Mercury Marauder X100! This X100 still has its original 429 Thunderjet engine and C-6 automatic trans! 1970 was the second and last year for the X100, it was also the last year for the Marauder name until it was revived in 03! This is an excellent project car, the car is originally from the Elkin, NC area and is a very solid car to start your restoration. I have ordered a Marti report for the car that will be included with it. The car was built on 11/08/1969 it was the 40,495 Mercury built at the St. Louis plant. The car is equipped with the 429 4v engine, C-6 trans, 3.25 rear axle, medium blue metallic paint, blue high back bucket seats. It was ordered with power windows, power front disk brakes, power steering, air conditioning, AM/8 track radio, intermittent wipers, & tinted glass! There were only 2542 X100s built in 1970 and this is one of only 77 built with these paint/trim codes. The car was running and driving good when parked a few years ago, I have had it running on a gallon jug. The 429 runs great, it sounded great as well! The car has 113,241 original miles on it. I have not driven the car at all, the rear wheels are stuck. I will do my best to have them free by the time the car is picked up! The car is very solid, I see evidence of light body work in the lower rear quarters and there is a very small rust hole in the trunk floor! The floor pans and frame are excellent! Even the area below the rear window is good. The interior is all there and in decent shape, the back seat is mint! This is a very rare car that deserves to be restored. It is a true unmolested X100 with its original 429, bucket seats and console! Restore this Mercury and have a true muscle car that is different than all the rest in town! I try to give an accurate description of the vehicle, if you have any questions please ask. If you need more pictures I will get them. There are a few pieces of trim missing, visible in the pictures and unfortunately I do not have the original X100 wheels. I have a clear NC title that will be delivered to the new owner upon receipt of clear payment. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours, the balance in 5 days. This car is not drivable and should be removed within two weeks unless prior arrangements have been made, I will work with the new owner as best as I can.
