Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1979 Porsche 911 sc for auction. There are many new parts on this car, and it is in running condition. You can drive this car home to wherever you are from in the country with no problems. I drove it from Hamden CT to Saugerties upstate NY this spring. Over $6,300 in reciepts included. Its mostly restored to fine condition but still needs a couple of things. The motor accelerates strong, might run rough for 10 seconds when you start it cold but then no issues. Paint is brand new, epoxy primer, base and 3 coats of clear. The original color was gold, you can see in the restoration pictures. Car was totally disassembled and stripped to bare metal. All body work done and this car is straight. The color is european racing green from eastwood. Targa bar and rear engine vent grate are matte hotrod black from eastwood. Rust free car from Georgia. I live in CT where I have been restoring her for the past year or so. I wanted to make it a show car but i now have a child and my priorities have shifted. I bought the car in Virginia, but it came from Georgia which is where i believe it spent most of its life until now. New: piston rings, timing chains, carrera chain tensioners, head gaskets, fuel injectors, Bosch warm up regulator, CDI box, valve stem seals, cam cover gaskets, cam housing gaskets, cylender base gaskets, chain ramps, fuel injector seals, msd 6al ignition, magnecor plug wires, alternator, all the filters, intake manifold gaskets, cap, rotor, plugs, transmission shift linkage bushings, and more. There is a binder of recieps that i will include. Most parts bought from pelican. The carrera chain tensioners were on the car when i bought it but are a 1600 dollar factory recommended upgrade over the stock spring tensioners. Individual direct oil lines runnung to each tensioner make the carreras more dependable. The alternator was expensive 4 or 500, the warm up regulator also cost a lot of money. All window seals, windshield rubber, and targa seal. Big work involved in changing a targa window seal. Brand new. Door sill trim, floor mats, seats reupholstered , tail light lenses, and rear reflector(expensive). Defects: Ignition switch is bad. Still works, but needs to sometimes be turned a few times. Count on replacing that. Targa top itself is in good shape but the rear seal leaks. The heater ducts are not connected to the heat exchangers, I have some of the parts to hook that up. The fresh air blower motor is new, but the heater has a different blower that i never got working. There is an oil leak on top of the motor somewhere, (bc it dosent leak when the motor is off) drips on the heat exchanger, but dosn't smoke bad. You can see it in the picture of the left heat exchanger. The two rear wheels each have one lug that requires a special key. I have the key, but both lug nuts have cracked. You can probably get it with an air wrench, but not by hand. Aftermarket radio does not work. odometer not working, reads 79,xxx, title marked not actual miles. could use a clutch cable (stiff pedal) but not urgent. trans shifts ok. I believe this to be a fair and complete assessment of the vehicle. Please direct any questions to me via my cell phone. 203 589 1263 if you are interested in bidding or an in person showing. I will answer or reply promptly to voice mail. I don't text much.
