Vehicle Detail
1974 Alfa Romeo GTV2000 GT Veloce This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV is one of the most popular Italian cars ever produced. These powerful little coupes performed and looked better than the cars coming out of Germany and still to this day have a great following by passionate Alfasti. Prices are on the rise for these cars due to the excellent driving experience, and it's hard to find rust free example like this one. I say rust free, because with so many of these cars they did not stand the test of time and weather conditions very well. This car is 95% rust free with only a couple spots could be addressed. Please look at the underside photos to see the details. The underside, frame pinch rails, trunk, front apron, wheel wells and panels look great. I could only find a one small hole in the floor, this is clearly shown in the underside photo's. The prior owner said he did some repairs in the bottom of the door prior to painting it. The paint on the car is in great condition, although not a show quality, it is excellent driver. The interior was recovered in factory covers, the carpet and head liner are also very nice. The only other major downside to this car, like many others of this era, is that it has had a sunroof cut into it. I know this is a bummer.... The prior owner had this car for the last 8 years. He purchased it from the original family here in Portland Oregon. So, from what I understand it is a two owner car. All the suspension is fresh with performance bushings, springs and Koni shocks. The steering and brakes have all recently been gone through. It has newer Spider Veloce Ronal wheels with new tires on it. The bumpers were removed like many of these for a sporting look. I particularly like the yellow driving lights and the more aggressive stance of this Alfa. The engine is the original with Redline upgraded dual Weber carburetors and free flowing muffler for better performance and sound. The engine starts and runs very smoothly. The only downside is that I can see is light puff of smoke on off throttle decel. I suspect valve guides or seals are starting to wear. I believe this car will run like this for many more miles of enjoyment. At least these cars are still very reasonable to work on and repair. The transmission shifts smooth and clutch is great. Also the driveline bushings have been replaced, so there is no driveline slop. All the windows go up and down smoothly and the rear trunk release handle is not broken like most are. Buying this car will bring its next owner lots of fun and enjoyment, plus instant acceptance by the Alfaisti! Call 503 475 8078 Josh or 503 819 9007 MattWe specialize in hard to find and unique cars.
