1968 Mercedes 250 sl (pagoda), rarest w113 made only produced in 1967 and a few in 1968. Only imported 1753 in US. Features include 4 wheel disc brakes, independent rear swing axle suspension, top speed 124mph, 6 cyl, single overhead cam shaft, 2.5 liter fuel injection engine. The body is welded up, not bolted together, power dash assisted steering, 4 speed automatic transmission, air condition (in car April 2002 modern air looks factory and cools great.) I have owned car over 12 years. I bought it in February 2002, the previous owner just spent $10k October 2001 on mechanical and cosmetics. I have receipts, I have spent $5623 from Feb 2002- June 2006. I have had factory air added plus many mechanical repairs and cosmetics. In 2008 I had the car restored by Custom Auto Paint and Body in Charleston, SC. The painting and labor total $8785 plus I paid for the parts. Car is all original, factor gaps good, matching numbers. I had all dents removed, car was stripped, windshield removed (replaced with new one), floor pan replaced, new carpet, seat covers, padded dash, wood refinished, window rubber replaced, rear mirror, aluminum molding, door panels, re-chrome rear bumpers, 4 new Michelin tires, new canvas top, complete rebuilt brake system, new muffler and chrome end piece, recore radiator, replace wiper motor. I had a complete rebuilt auto transmission installed November 2010 from Bud Benz in Douglas, GA, Cost $3825 plus $600 to install. I have all the bill spent on the car. The car is a great car, not perfect but all major things done. I drive average once a week. The paint is good and shiny. A few small blemishes. Tachometer seals leaks a little, had new seal install, still leaks a little. Crack in glass around right headlight (see picture) , still works. Small dent in top grill (see picture). No hard top, no sun visors, mileage exempt. I am selling because I lost garage space and have too many projects. Car will make someone a great driver. The car drives smooth and strong.
