THERE IS NO RUST IN THE FLOORS, ROCKERS, DOORS, FENDERS, FRONT OR REAR BODY MOUNTS, HOOD, QUARTER PANEL WHEEL WELL LIPS, WHEEL WELL SPLASH PANELS, TAIL LIGHT END CAPS OR WINDOW FRAME! IT HAS THE TYPICAL RUST AREA ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE QUARTER PANEL BETWEEN THE ROCKER/DOOR AREA AND THE REAR TIRE OPENING AND SOME SURFACE RUST ON THE LOWER SUPPORTS THAT SPREAD ACROSS THE SIDES OF THE FRONT FLOOR BOARDS AND THE SURFACE RUST IS IN THE AREA AS IT MEETS THE INNER ROCKER WHICH IS VERY COMMON DUE TO POOR DESIGN ANY MUD OR DAMAGING ELEMENTS GET STUCK IN THE BRIDGED MEETING POINT AND JUST SIT THERE UNTIL CLEANED OUT. THIS SCOUT CAME WITH THE FULLY LOADED PKG THAT HAS DELUXE STICK ON SIDE MOLDING, CHROME BUMPERS, LUGGAGE RACK, TOW PKG AND SIDE SLIDING WINDOWS. ALL GLASS IS FACTORY ORIGINAL THAT IS CLEAR AND FREE OF ANY CRACKS. ALL COLORED CORNER LENSES ARE STILL BRIGHT AND FULL OF COLOR WITH NO CRACKS OR FADING AND ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK. IT IS 36 YEARS OLD ORIGINAL SURVIVOR, SO WHILE IT IS A FIND TO SEE IT IN ORIGINAL PAINT IT OF COURSE DOES HAVE SOME WEAR AND TEAR. THE REAR HATCH IS FIBERGLASS AND LIKE OTHER FIBERGLASS VEHICLES OF THE ERA LIKE VETS THEY SOMETIMES HAVE AGE REACTION AS SEEN IN THIS ONE IT HAS WHAT YOU CALL BLISTERING THAT LOOK LIKE LITTLE BUMPS UNDER THE PAINT. THE PAINT IS NOT FLAKING OR GOING TO COME OFF IT IS JUST A CHEMICAL REACTION THAT OFTEN HAPPENS AND WILL STAY THE WAY IT LOOKS NOW. THIS SCOUT WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT IN THE MID 80'S THAT DID A LITTLE DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER THAT WAS REPLACED AND SOME WORK WAS DONE ON THE VERY FRONT OF THE FENDERS. MOST OF THE PAINT WORK WAS DONE ON THE PASSENGER FENDER , BUT ON BOTH FENDERS THE BROWN WAS PAINT MATCHED THEN BLENDED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL AND THE THE HOOD WAS NEVER TOUCHED ALONG WITH THE WINDOW FRAME AND THE REST OF THE TRUCK FROM DOORS BACK. THE DAMAGE WAS VERY MINOR AND I BELIEVE HE SAID HE HIT A DEER, BUT THE BROWN AREA COLOR MATCHED ON THE FENDERS IS SLIGHTLY DARKER UNDER CERTAIN LIGHT AND FADES OUT TO THE ORIGINAL SHADE. THE DARKER AREA IS MOST OF THE BROWN ON THE PASSENGER FENDER , BUT ONLY THE FIRST FOOT OR SO ON THE DRIVER SIDE, SO THE BACK HALF OF THE BROWN ON THE DRIVER FENDER IS ORIGINAL. NEITHER FENDER WAS PULLED OR REPLACED AND ONLY NEEDED MINOR WORK. THE RIGHT PASSENGER FENDER HAS HAD SOME KIND OF REACTION AND BLISTERED AND CHIPPED IN A FEW AREAS, BUT STILL HOLDS A NICE SHINE. AFTER 34 YEARS OF DRIVING YOU WILL OF COURSE FIND STONE CHIPS THROUGHOUT THE BODY ESPECIALLY ON THE LOWER ENDS FROM THE TIRES THROWING UP ROCKS AND ALONG FRONT EDGES OF HOOD, FENDERS AND VALANCE, YOU CAN ALSO OF COURSE SEE LITTLE SURFACE SCRATCHES IN A FEW PLACES ON THE BODY AND A SCUFF ON THE BACK OF THE DRIVER REAR QUARTER PANEL JUST ABOVE THE MOLDING THAT ALSO CHIPPED THE PAINT. THERE IS SOME SMALL CHIPPING IN A FEW PLACES ON THE EDGES OF THE WHITE SIDE GRAPHIC PAINT. THE TOP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF AND THE REAR HATCH STAY UP BY ITSELF THANKS TO SOME MODERN UPGRADED HYDRAULIC HOISTS. ALL OF THESE FLAWS ARE PRETTY MINOR ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THIS SCOUTS AGE AND WHAT MOST ORIGINAL TRUCKS OF THIS ERA LOOK LIKE TODAY, BUT CAN BE SEEN IN THE CLOSE UPS AND IN THE VIDEO AND NONE OF THESE TAKE AWAY FROM THE TRUCK EVEN A LITTLE. THIS ONE IS GUARANTEED TO DRAW PEOPLE AND COMMENTS IN EVEN FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN INTO CLASSICS , ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SEE THE INTERIOR:) INTERIOR- AMAZING 70'S & 80'S CORRECT FACTORY SMOKE FREE INTERIOR THAT SHOWS VERY NICE WITH VERY MINOR WEAR. FULLY LOADED WITH DELUXE MIDAS PKG CONVERSION INTERIOR WHICH INCLUDES FULL SHAG CARPETING FRONT TO REAR, FRONT SWIVELING CAPTAIN CHAIRS WITH DUAL ARMRESTS, REAR BENCH SEAT AND DELUXE PLAID AND VINYL MATCHING DOOR PANELS, REAR SIDE PANELS AND HEADLINER. IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET STEREO WITH 80'S SPEAKERS THAT DOESN'T WORK. THE FRONT SEATS HAVE SOME SUN FADING, BUT OTHER THEN TWO WEAR MARKS ON THE DRIVER LOWER SITTING AREA THE MATERIAL HAS HELD UP REALLY GOOD THAT ARE STILL SOFT AND COMFORTABLE WITHOUT THAT BRITTLE FEEL. FLAWLESS DASH WITH BEAUTIFUL BLACK PAINT ON THE METAL AREAS AND A NICE CRACK FREE VINYL DASH PAD. VERY NICE REAR INNER FIBERGLASS SIDE PANELS THAT ARE NICE TO SEE INTACT SINCE THEY HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO GET TO THE TOP BOLTS, SO PEOPLE OFTEN NEVER PUT THEM BACK AND ARE LOST OR DAMAGED. THE DOOR AND TAILGATE WEATHER SEALS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE NOT BEEN CUT, BUT ARE GETTING A LITTLE FLAT AND LEAK SOME AIR NOISES, BUT NO WATER. THE REAR HATCH LATCH IS FROZEN UP AND DOES NOT LATCH AND EVEN THOUGH IT STAYS DOWN WITHOUT A PROBLEM IT WILL RATTLE OVER LARGE BUMPERS, BUT THEY USUALLY FREE UP IF YOU SOAK THEM IN WD-40 OR FREEZE OFF. THE CARPET HAS NO HOLES OR REAL BREAKDOWN OF MATERIAL AND AMAZINGLY THE SHAG STILL STANDS UP AND IS FLUFFY , BUT AS SEEN IT IS FADED IN MANY AREAS. THE GAUGES ARE ALL VERY CLEAR AND CRISP, BU THTE ONLY ONE THAT ALWAYS WORKS IS THE SPEEDO AND ODOMETER AS INTERNATIONAL NEVER GOT FAMOUS FOR THEIR GAUGES THEY RARELY WORK. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SEEM TO WORK WHEN IT WANTS AND MAY JUST BE A CONNECTION, BUT THE OTHER THREE I THINK JUST GAVE UP. THIS SCOUT MIDAS IS VERY NICE AND COMPLETE INSIDE WITH A FEW VERY MINOR AGE FLAWS YES, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY HARD TO FIND A NICER 34 YEAR OLD INTERIOR THAT HAS THIS WILD OF A THROW BACK ORIGINAL LOOK. MECHANICAL- THIS SCOUT CAME FULLY OPTIONED WITH THE SOUGHT AFTER 345 V8 AND 4BBL CARB, VERY HARD TO FIND 1980 ONLY FACTORY DANA 300 TRANSFER CASE, DANA 44 DISC BRAKE FRONT AXLE WITH 2 DEGREE CASTER AND DANA 44 REAR, ELECTRONIC IGNITION, 727 AUTO TRANSMISSION,POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES AND HEAVY DUTY RADIATOR. THIS TRUCK ALSO HAS A 4" LIFT INSTALLED A WHILE BACK, BUT NOT MANY MILES ON IT AS YOU STILL CAN READ THE DECALS CLEARLY ON THE SPRINGS AND THE POLYURETHANE BUSHINGS LOOK NICE AND WEAR FREE. IT HAS LIKE NEW 32" ALL TERRAIN TIRES THAT RIDE SMOOTH AND QUIET WRAPPED AROUND THOSE POLISHED 15X8 ALUMINUM BAJA WHEELS THAT FILL UP THE WHEEL WELLS AND GIVE THIS SCOUT THE PERFECT STANCE. THIS MOTOR DOES NOT TICK, KNOCK OR SMOKE AND GIVES THAT DEEP 4BL GROWL WHEN PUT TO WORK. THE TRANSMISSION NEVER HAS A PROBLEM DOWN SHIFTING UNDER HEAVY ACCELERATION AND ALWAYS UP SHIFTS WITH NICE CONSISTENT SHIFTS. THIS SCOUT IS ALL ORIGINAL DRIVE-TRAIN AND UNDER THE HOOD, SO IT STILL RETAINS ALL IT'S EMISSIONS EQUIPMENT AND DOES HAVE SOME SMALL LEAKS AND SEEPS OUT OF THE THE TRANS AND MOTOR AS EXPECTED AFTER THIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE. THE ONLY AREAS I WOULD LATER LOOK TO UPGRADE OR PLAN TO PUT SOME ATTENTION IF I WERE TO KEEP THIS LONGER OR HAD LONG DAILY DRIVER INTENTIONS WITH IT WOULD BE TO TOSS THE FACTORY CARB AS IT WAS NEVER A GOOD DESIGN AND IS A COLD BLOODED DESIGN AND REPLACE IT WITH A NICE MODERN CARTER 500 CFM 4BBL OR HOLLEY 500CFM 2BBL, YANK THE 34 YEAR OLD RESTRICTING EXHAUST AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER OFF SINCE ITS RUSTING AT THE TAIL PIPE ANYWAY AND PUT A NICE DEEP FREE FLOWING DUAL EXHAUST SET UP ON THIS TRUCK THAT WOULD GIVE IT THE SOUND IT DESERVES AND REALLY WAKE THIS 345 UP, THROW SOME MODERN GAUGE CONVERSION IN FROM SUPERSCOUTS AND MAYBE LOOK AT REPLACING THE TRANS PAN GASKET AND SOME OF THE MINOR GASKETS ON THE MOTOR. BODY-THIS SCOUT TRULY LOOKS INCREDIBLE WITH A HIGH GLOSSY FACTORY ORIGINAL PAINT ON A SOLID BODY THAT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO COME BY NOW DAYS ESPECIALLY COMBINED WITH LAST YEAR PRODUCTION AND HARD TO FIND OPTIONS. THIS SCOUT CAME IN COLOR OPTION IH SIMPLY CALLED DARK BROWN AND THIS 34 YEAR OLD ORIGINAL PAINT HAS GREAT DEPTH AND REFLECTION THAT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE A PIECE OF WET CHOCOLATE. YOU CAN STILL EVEN SEE THE FADED ORIGINAL UNLEADED ONLY MARKINGS NEAR THE FILLER CAP AND THIS SCOUT EVEN STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL GAS CAP!! THERE IS NO RUST IN THE FLOORS, ROCKERS, DOORS, FENDERS, FRONT OR REAR BODY MOUNTS, HOOD, QUARTER PANEL WHEEL WELL LIPS, WHEEL WELL SPLASH PANELS, TAIL LIGHT END CAPS OR WINDOW FRAME! IT HAS THE TYPICAL RUST AREA ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE QUARTER PANEL BETWEEN THE ROCKER/DOOR AREA AND THE REAR TIRE OPENING AND SOME SURFACE RUST ON THE LOWER SUPPORTS THAT SPREAD ACROSS THE SIDES OF THE FRONT FLOOR BOARDS AND THE SURFACE RUST IS IN THE AREA AS IT MEETS THE INNER ROCKER WHICH IS VERY COMMON DUE TO POOR DESIGN ANY MUD OR DAMAGING ELEMENTS GET STUCK IN THE BRIDGED MEETING POINT AND JUST SIT THERE UNTIL CLEANED OUT. THIS SCOUT CAME WITH THE FULLY LOADED PKG THAT HAS DELUXE STICK ON SIDE MOLDING, CHROME BUMPERS, LUGGAGE RACK, TOW PKG AND SIDE SLIDING WINDOWS. ALL GLASS IS FACTORY ORIGINAL THAT IS CLEAR AND FREE OF ANY CRACKS. ALL COLORED CORNER LENSES ARE STILL BRIGHT AND FULL OF COLOR WITH NO CRACKS OR FADING AND ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTS WORK. IT IS 36 YEARS OLD ORIGINAL SURVIVOR, SO WHILE IT IS A FIND TO SEE IT IN ORIGINAL PAINT IT OF COURSE DOES HAVE SOME WEAR AND TEAR. THE REAR HATCH IS FIBERGLASS AND LIKE OTHER FIBERGLASS VEHICLES OF THE ERA LIKE VETS THEY SOMETIMES HAVE AGE REACTION AS SEEN IN THIS ONE IT HAS WHAT YOU CALL BLISTERING THAT LOOK LIKE LITTLE BUMPS UNDER THE PAINT. THE PAINT IS NOT FLAKING OR GOING TO COME OFF IT IS JUST A CHEMICAL REACTION THAT OFTEN HAPPENS AND WILL STAY THE WAY IT LOOKS NOW. THIS SCOUT WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN A MINOR ACCIDENT IN THE MID 80'S THAT DID A LITTLE DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER THAT WAS REPLACED AND SOME WORK WAS DONE ON THE VERY FRONT OF THE FENDERS. MOST OF THE PAINT WORK WAS DONE ON THE PASSENGER FENDER , BUT ON BOTH FENDERS THE BROWN WAS PAINT MATCHED THEN BLENDED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL AND THE THE HOOD WAS NEVER TOUCHED ALONG WITH THE WINDOW FRAME AND THE REST OF THE TRUCK FROM DOORS BACK. THE DAMAGE WAS VERY MINOR AND I BELIEVE HE SAID HE HIT A DEAR, BUT THE BROWN AREA COLOR MATCHED ON THE FENDERS IS SLIGHTLY DARKER UNDER CERTAIN LIGHT AND FADES OUT TO THE ORIGINAL SHADE. THE DARKER AREA IS MOST OF THE BROWN ON THE PASSENGER FENDER , BUT ONLY THE FIRST FOOT OR SO ON THE DRIVER SIDE, SO THE BACK HALF OF THE BROWN ON THE DRIVER FENDER IS ORIGINAL. NEITHER FENDER WAS PULLED OR REPLACED AND ONLY NEEDED MINOR WORK. THE RIGHT PASSENGER FENDER HAS HAD SOME KIND OF REACTION AND BLISTERED AND CHIPPED IN A FEW AREAS, BUT STILL HOLDS A NICE SHINE.AFTER 34 YEARS OF DRIVING YOU WILL OF COURSE FIND STONE CHIPS THROUGHOUT THE BODY ESPECIALLY ON THE LOWER ENDS FROM THE TIRES THROWING UP ROCKS AND ALONG FRONT EDGES OF HOOD, FENDERS AND VALANCE, YOU CAN ALSO OF COURSE SEE LITTLE SURFACE SCRATCHES IN A FEW PLACES ON THE BODY AND A SCUFF ON THE BACK OF THE DRIVER REAR QUARTER PANEL JUST ABOVE THE MOLDING THAT ALSO CHIPPED THE PAINT. THERE IS SOME SMALL CHIPPING IN A FEW PLACES ON THE EDGES OF THE WHITE SIDE GRAPHIC PAINT. THE TOP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF AND THE REAR HATCH STAY UP BY ITSELF THANKS TO SOME MODERN UPGRADED HYDRAULIC HOISTS. ALL OF THESE FLAWS ARE PRETTY MINOR ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THIS SCOUTS AGE AND WHAT MOST ORIGINAL TRUCKS OF THIS ERA LOOK LIKE TODAY, BUT CAN BE SEEN IN THE CLOSE UPS AND IN THE VIDEO AND NONE OF THESE TAKE AWAY FROM THE TRUCK EVEN A LITTLE. INTERIOR- AMAZING 70'S & 80'S CORRECT FACTORY SMOKE FREE INTERIOR THAT SHOWS VERY NICE WITH VERY MINOR WEAR. FULLY LOADED WITH DELUXE MIDAS PKG CONVERSION INTERIOR WHICH INCLUDES FULL SHAG CARPETING FRONT TO REAR, FRONT SWIVELING CAPTAIN CHAIRS WITH DUAL ARMRESTS, REAR BENCH SEAT AND DELUXE PLAID AND VINYL MATCHING DOOR PANELS, REAR SIDE PANELS AND HEADLINER. IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET STEREO WITH 80'S SPEAKERS THAT DOESN'T WORK. THE FRONT SEATS HAVE SOME SUN FADING, BUT OTHER THEN TWO WEAR MARKS ON THE DRIVER LOWER SITTING AREA THE MATERIAL HAS HELD UP REALLY GOOD THAT ARE STILL SOFT AND COMFORTABLE WITHOUT THAT BRITTLE FEEL. FLAWLESS DASH WITH BEAUTIFUL BLACK PAINT ON THE METAL AREAS AND A NICE CRACK FREE VINYL DASH PAD . VERY NICE REAR INNER FIBERGLASS SIDE PANELS THAT ARE NICE TO SEE INTACT SINCE THEY HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO GET TO THE TOP BOLTS, SO PEOPLE OFTEN NEVER PUT THEM BACK AND ARE LOST OR DAMAGED. THE DOOR AND TAILGATE WEATHER SEALS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE NOT BEEN CUT , BUT ARE GETTING A LITTLE FLAT AND LEAK SOME AIR NOISES, BUT NO WATER. THE REAR HATCH LATCH IS FROZEN UP AND DOES NOT LATCH AND EVEN THOUGH IT STAYS DOWN WITHOUT A PROBLEM IT WILL RATTLE OVER LARGE BUMPERS, BUT THEY USUALLY FREE UP IF YOU SOAK THEM IN WD-40 OR FREEZE OFF. THE CARPET HAS NO HOLES OR REAL BREAKDOWN OF MATERIAL AND AMAZINGLY THE SHAG STILL STANDS UP AND IS FLUFFY , BUT AS SEEN IT IS FADED IN MANY AREAS. THE GAUGES ARE ALL VERY CLEAR AND CRISP, BU THTE ONLY ONE THAT ALWAYS WORKS IS THE SPEEDO AND ODOMETER AS INTERNATIONAL NEVER GOT FAMOUS FOR THEIR GAUGES THEY RARELY WORK. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SEEM TO WORK WHEN IT WANTS AND MAY JUST BE A CONNECTION, BUT THE OTHER THREE I THINK JUS GAVE UP. THE ONLY AREAS I WOULD LATER LOOK TO UPGRADE OR PLAN TO PUT SOME ATTENTION IF I WERE TO KEEP THIS LONGER OR HAD LONG DAILY DRIVER INTENTIONS WITH IT WOULD BE TO TOSS THE FACTORY CARB AS IT WAS NEVER A GOOD DESIGN AND IS A COLD BLOODED DESIGN AND REPLACE IT WITH A NICE MODERN CARTER 500 CFM 4BBL OR HOLLEY 500CFM 2BBL, YANK THE 34 YEAR OLD RESTRICTING EXHAUST AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER OFF SINCE ITS RUSTING AT THE TAIL PIPE ANYWAY AND PUT A NICE DEEP FREE FLOWING DUAL EXHAUST SET UP ON THIS TRUCK THAT WOULD GIVE IT THE SOUND IT DESERVES AND REALLY WAKE THIS 345 UP, THROW SOME MODERN GAUGE CONVERSION IN FROM SUPERSCOUTS AND MAYBE LOOK AT REPLACING THE TRANS PAN GASKET AND SOME OF THE MINOR GASKETS ON THE MOTOR. THIS IS A DEPENDABLE SCOUT THAT ALWAYS FIRES UP AND IS READY FOR A NEW OWNER AND YEARS OF FUN!!:)

THIS TRUCK FULFILLS THAT OLD TRUCK NEED AND FEELING MOST ARE LOOKING FOR , BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES AND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHCLE OF THIS AGE.

Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone’s satisfaction. Based on the bidder's personal experience, some bidders will be overly pleased with my description and pictures, and others may feel that I fell short. I post these auctions based on how I want to see auctions when I’m buying, keeping in mind what I look for, and I try to put your eye's to what I can see and touch.
