Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Fairlane GT 390 One owner car - 62,591 miles True survivor car - absolutely gorgeous Nightmist blue exterior - blue interior Original window sticker Original bill of sale This 390 GT runs absolutely perfect, fires right up, drives great, transmission is perfect. This Fairlane GT is the real deal. I got this GT from the original owner out of his front yard just a few weeks ago. I have the signed title from the original owner in hand along with the original window sticker, bill of sale, and title. He replaced the exhaust in 1995 for which there is a receipt, put brakes on it and replaced the water pump. That is all that has been done to the car since the day he drove it home from the dealer. Check out the window sticker and bill of sale. Car came with an AM radio option, two speed wipers, power steering, and a deluxe steering wheel from the factory. There is one rip in the passenger front seat vinyl with no damage to the seat foam. There is one minor rust spot behind the passenger rear wheel well which is only about the size of a quarter and is on the outer sheet metal only, not through the inner wall at all. This 390 GT was garage kept its entire. It has a beautiful patina with some small scuffs and so forth , actually very befitting such an awesome survivor car. The owner ordered the car with the XL chrome package which was installed by the dealer as shown on the bill of sale. It has factory chrome valve covers. It is a stunning example of a true survivor. I personally wouldn't do a thing to it, it is beautiful as it is and all original, but if someone wanted to bring it to concourse level it would be a perfect car to have as this Fairlane GT is certainly one of the finest survivor cars of its kind in the country. I encourage you to come by and take a look at it. Last month a member of the Fairlane Club of America came by and took some photos and thoroughly checked out the car. To use some of his quotes "This car is so original it's scary", and "I just can't get over this car", and "This is a holy grail type thing". He said one of the members who knows a lot more than him said he's only seen one other GT car with XL trim and that was a factory mistake. As you can see, this car was ordered from the dealer with the XL trim package. The car was ordered by the customer in March as the Bill of Sale shows and in fact has a March build date. There are very few GT 3 speed cars that I'm aware of, power steering is also rare on the GTs. I believe with the 390 GT 3 speed, power steering, XL chrome trim package, and deluxe steering wheel, this may very well be a one of one car. I had to make a decision on what to do with this awesome car. I have quite a few toys including a Z06 Corvette and Piper Cherokee Six airplane, so I've decide to sell the car in a true, NO RESERVE auction to see what it is truly worth. I have my opinion about what it's worth but let's see, no games, no fake bidders, no gimmicks - just a genuine old fashioned auction on a genuine piece of Ford and American muscle car history. This car is not for sale locally or advertised on any other site and there is no Buy It Now price, IT WILL BE SOLD THROUGH THIS EBAY AUCTION. So bid to win, because the highest bidder will own this true American classic and the market can settle the discussion about what it's worth. Good luck and happy bidding. On Oct-01-14 at 13:32:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove the GT to a friends shop to put it on a lift and get some underneath photos so the mileage went up 5 miles. The underneath is in really great original shape. A little rust on the driver side rear metal behind the wheel well, not into the wheel well at all and a rust spot on the tailpipes. Actually the underside is in extremely great shape for an original survivor car for sure. I will email you the photos if you ask or I can actually text them easier if you have a smart phone, just send me a request with your phone number and I'll send them to you. Also, I have some pictures of the headliner, it is in practically new condition, a beautiful light blue. All the interior lights work fine as do all the exterior lights and the horn works as well. I may drive the car to a local club's drive-in this week so the mileage may go up slightly, not more than 20 miles though. It's just so awesome to drive its hard to just leave it in the garage. Every single time I take it out I get multiple thumbs up and requests to light up the tires and lots of great smiles. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
