Vehicle Detail

Up for sale here I have a late 70s to early 80s built hot rod with a Ford 302 V8 and an automatic transmission. The truck was navy blue with lime green pinstriping on the bed, tailgate and above the drip rail. It was last tagged in 1990 and has turned into a patina project truck from its years of sitting. I was told that it had only been sitting out since June of this year but I have no way to verify that. The engine is not stuck and turns over when you put a wrench on it but it doesn't run. The tape is on the plug wires as my way to not mess up the firing order because when I got it home before I checked if it was free I removed the plugs and sprayed sea foam down each cylinder. After letting it soak for a little bit I put a 1/2 inch drive ratchet on it and it moved easy. The truck will need fuel system gone through, the brakes, some wiring, and other mechanical work to be back on the road again. I got the truck from the nephew of the man that built it and he has owned it since 1992 and hasn't really done much with it. He said his uncle had the engine built for the truck but beyond the edelbrock intake and M/T valve covers he doesn't know what internals were put in it. The radiator didn't have visible coolant in it when I got it but all the other fluids in all the systems look like new so I would say his uncle maintained the truck well. The truck is riding on stock style suspension but they did lower it by heating the last 3 or so inches on the rear of every spring and bending them downward. The truck steers and rolls easy but doesn't start or stop. The body on the truck is pretty straight with minimal dents and rust. The running boards on it are in perfect shape with the ford step plates. Both cab corners also appear to be perfect with no work done. Both doors look to be perfect but the passenger side doesn't latch. The lower cowl in front of the doors on both sides have rust and some filler in them with the passenger side being the worst (see pics). The floor also has some rust in it by the kick panels on both sides. The drivers floor was replaced when they built it. The floors are nice and solid under the seats as I saw them when I removed the seats to take out what was left of the shag carpet. The roof and drip rails are straight and rust free. Both rear fenders and the tailgate are very nice and the bed is straight other than the dent on the drivers side top rail above the fender. What's left of the wood and metal strips is still in the bed of the truck but they're shot. The truck had a snap on tonneau cover on it so it has a lot of snaps riveted to it. Both bumpers are pretty straight and I'm sure were either rechromed or new when the truck was built. The grill is nice and straight in the truck but the factory turn signals have been removed. The drivers fenders is solid but has a dent where it rubbed up latch because the hinges need work and are pushing it to far forward. On the interior he had the heater, dash parts and door parts chromed but it has detiorated over the years. The truck has some old Sun brand gauges and aftermarket knobs on alot of the dash controls. The keys are in it and I have the key for the locking gas cap as well. The truck has blue bucket seats with armrests most likely out of an old van and a blue headliner that is in decent shape. All the glass on the truck is good it just has that diy tint on it. The sun visors, rear view mirror and handles on the doors are missing but I'll buy new handles and the mirror from LMC truck for the buyer of the truck. I can also pick up any parts the buyer may want from LMC truck for 10% off plus no sales tax because I have an account there and I live within 30 minutes of them. Overall this truck would make a killer rat rod project but is definitely nice enough to make for an easy custom build. For shipping quotes contact Ryan @ ASAP Transport 913-201-0133. The truck has a clear Ks title that matches the frame vin and it's selling with no reserve so good luck bidding. The truck is for sale locally so the auction may end at anytime before a bid is placed. Thanks and good luck bidding. On Sep-23-14 at 18:32:45 PDT, seller added the following information: The transmission is a C4 automatic and the truck does not have power brakes. The truck does have dual exhaust with glass packs that appears to be good and usable for a rat rod not all rusted out. The small flat panels in front of and behind the rear fenders below the bedsides have rust through and had filler put over them. I also can deliver this truck personally within 250 miles of Ottawa, Ks for $1 per loaded mile. Thanks and good luck bidding.
