Vehicle is also for sale locally and therefore we reserve the right to end this auction at anytime.On Sep-13-14 at 18:07:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Rare 1961 Buick Electra 225 Convertible,Original 401 V/8 was replaced by previous owner with smaller, more economical 1961 V/8 364 2 BBL Buick Wildcat motor with 82,000 miles.Was repainted years ago with a similar red to the factory paint.Carpet needs to be replaced. Upholestry is in driver quality condition but not perfect.Body is straight and basically solid but needs minor attention and eventual repaint.Tires have good tread left but should be replaced for safety as tires have an expiration regardless of tread life.Brakes do work well but as with all antique cars should be upgraded to dual reservoir brake system for safety.Front suspension parts have old, brittle and dry grommets and rubber spacers etc., and would be best if front suspensionwas gone through for safety. Although this vehicle starts, runs, drives and stops it is our opinion that it wouldbe best to have it transported to its destination for restoration rather than attempting to drive it home. SAFETY FIRST! 1961 Buick Electra Convertible is a rare model and difficult to find especially in good survivor condition.This vehicle looks great and turns heads everywhere it goes but bear in mind it is over 50 years old and will requiresome restoration to be show quality.
