Vehicle Detail
Relisted due to non paying bidder, if you have zero bid history email before making an offer, or clicking buy it now. Last year of the Stingray trim. This is a 1976 Corvette, L-48 model, automatic transmission, exterior is Brown with Buckskin interior. My Corvette has the original 350 engine, original turbo 350 automatic transmission, and original rear end. This is a matching numbers car. The engine and transmission have never been taken out of the car. Engine compartment has been dressed up and parts changed as needed over the years. Body has had a touch up re-spray done in 90's, and again 2001 for front and rear bumpers, never been completely re-painted, that really shows around the rear deck. It has some bumps and bruises in the paint, nothing major, 5 feet off you can barely notice. The engine bay is dressed up nicely with chrome accents, not over blown, nor over kill. Airbrush work on the air cleaner is sharp looking. I bought this from the original owners estate, in Virginia beach VA, when I was stationed there years ago. I retired and moved to NY with my other toy cars and it is time for this one to go. This car is stored in the winter right next to my 71 SS Camaro 396. Car is stored indoors year round. It comes with a set of gold fiberglass side muffler pipe cover and side mufflers (shown in two of the photos). The gold covers and side pipes are not currently on because it has new dual exhaust installed in 2013 with duals out the back. This a real nice running Corvette, goes to shows when I have time, not a trailer queen. Great quality driver grade car. Only gets out to see the road 4 or 5 months a year. Bird cage (the steel cage around the cockpit) is rust free and spotless. Bird cage was the 1st thing I checked when I got the car years ago. Car also has a new rear spring. The wheels are Cragar SS wheels with nice BFG TA's. WHAT IS NOT ORIGINAL OR WHAT I NO LONGER HAVE: The original steering wheel is gone. The original spare tire carrier and spare are gone, I never got them. The drivers mirror is gone. 1977 corvette sport mirrors are installed and were done after one of the touch up paints. The original rally wheels are gone, sold them years ago. Power steering pump, replaced twice because it sits a lot. Any car guy or gal knows that with old cars sitting and rubber O-rings = not a good thing)
