Up For auction From The Mustang Ranch in Golden, Colorado. This Hertz rent a racer, out of a private family collection #SFM6S2005 has its original numbers matching Hipo 289 V-8 and C-4 automatic transmission, all which have been verified with Saac and Howard Pardee. About 25 years ago the car had a moderate restoration. The motor/ trans were rebuilt and obviously a fair amount of mechanical work was done. Front and rear brakes/ front suspension were rebuilt with OEM components. At some point in it's rental life I assume the right rear quarter panel and right front fender were replaced. It was then repainted its Hertz colors and new GT350H decals were added. The car retains the rest of its original sheet metal, frame rails, floor pans, trunk drop offs, quarter panel and engine bay radiator support/ aprons with the Ford vin numbers still in place. The interior has had new carpet, door panels, seat covers, kick panels and a bench seat installed. It also comes with the original bucket seats. She starts right up no noises, smoke or leaks. I have driven this Shelby out on the highway and have found it to be totally road worthy. This Shelby was just driven occasionally during the summer and out for a weekend cruise. There are a fair amount of small chips/ scratches and there is no rust on the lower extremities of the car what so ever. More than anything this car needs a good cleaning and detail/ tires and than can be put right into service.
