Vehicle Detail

1987 BMW - E30 - 3 Series - 325is Up for auction is my 1987 3 Series E30 325is. Because of health reasons I’m having a hard time getting in and out of the car; so it’s time to get rid of my baby. I took the car out for one last drive and fell in love with all over again. Then while moving the car back under the carport, unfortunately the clutch pedal went to the floor. It most likely is the master cylinder because I replaced the slave cylinder about two years ago. I’d repair it but I can’t because of my recent back surgery and don’t want to invest any more money in a car I’m selling. So with just a small investment someone will have a great classic 325is Bimmer. Just the rare front spoiler, Recaro Leather Sport Seats, Limited Slip Differential, BBS Alloy Wheels, and the brand new H&R Touring Cup Kit Suspension Package plus the host of new parts are worth a lot more than my starting bid. I am the second owner, purchased in 2003 from the original owner and have enjoyed every minute behind the wheel. I am mature driver, not a “Boy-Racer”, and have not abused this car; but have maintained and cared for her. Don't be put off by the 218k miles (just over 8,000 miles per year average). With a new master clutch cylinder I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. This car has many years of life left in her. I have taken extremely good care of this car and it shows in the way it looks. By most accounts, the E30 is the most durable and dependable 3 Series ever produced by BMW. There’s more than just durability and reliability to the E30’s popularity; each 3 Series that followed, the E36, E46 and the E90 has grown larger, heavier, quieter, more luxurious, more sanitized, easier to drive and progressively less engaging for the serious driver. They are all great cars, but they lack the E30’s tossability, not to mention the confidence inspired by things like actual outward visibility, and ease of diagnosis and repair by a good do-it-yourself type. (No need to go to the dealer every time the damn “service engine soon” light goes on) Where handling is concerned, the E30 handles like BMW’s did when the traction control module was between your ears. The 1987 E30 325is was the top of the line high performance 3 Series before BMW North America started importing the E-30 M3 in 1988. The 325is doesn’t fall far short of the M cars where performance is concerned and many prefer its smooth running, lower maintenance six-cylinder engine over the M3’s four cylinder. The car is basically all stock and original with just about every normal option. I have upgraded the car to the European Ellipsoid Projector Headlights. The 325is’s came with a host of M-Technic parts; Sport Suspension, multi-adjustable Recaro Leather Sport Seats, Front Spoiler with integrated Fog Lights and Brake Cooling Ducts, Rear Spoiler, an Three-Spoke leather Steering Wheel, front & rear Anti-Sway Torsion Bars, 3.73 Limited Slip Differential, Twin tube Dual Exhaust, body colored rear-view side mirror housings, BBS Cross-spoke (Basketweave) alloy wheels, Electric Dual position Sunroof, BMW Premium Sound system. The car also has Leather Interior, AC, Cruise Control, Electric Windows and Door Locks, Tinted Glass, Electrically adjustable outside Mirrors and an On board Computer with LCD Quartz Clock. Also included in this auction are many new and used parts and extras: New Parts not installed H&R Touring Cup Kit Suspension Package ($679.00) Four New Tires (Two unmounted, two mounted & balanced with very few miles) Two New Fog lights with extra bulbs K&N High-Flow Air Filter & Cleaner & Recharge Oil Front & Rear Chrome Windshield Molding with install tool Timing Belt & Tensioner, gaskets, belt cover Fan Clutch 6 –Bosch Spark Plugs Oil Filters (2) Water Pump and gaskets Thermostat Dust Sleeves for shocks (2) Brake Pads Front and Rear Emergency Brake Shoes Front Brake pad sensor Caliper Rebuild Kits (4 kits = both front & rear) Tension strap Clamps (4) Bumper Strip for Front License bracket removal PIAA Silicone Wiper Blades and Arms Exhaust Hangers (2) Rear Shock tube protective covers Rear Shock Mounts (upper) with gaskets Fan Belts (4) A\C, Waterpump etc. Fuses – various sizes and extra bulbs Used Parts Set Original Suspension Springs from car. Strong and even compression in all cylinders. Service and maintenance has always been keep up to date. I also have a Performance EPROM chip for the ECU which optimizes ignition timing, fuel curves and raises rev limit which results in increased horsepower and torque. Must use 91 octane or higher gasoline. INTERIOR The Black Leather interior of this classic E30 is in very good overall condition. All original even down to the floor mats. No cracks in dash. Imperfections include a split seam, and wear on the driver seat, slight wear on passenger seat. Some light fading and tears on the mats. This is still a very cool classic BMW cockpit BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this 325is is in good to very good original condition overall. With, I believe, all original paint is still lustrous overall shine that could use a good buffing. It does have the typical rock chips, nicks, scrapes and light imperfections typical of a 27 year-old car which I would rate as a nice driver-quality example. Body is straight and in great shape; still has all of original VIN tags on all the panels. No dents or rust on the body, except for some small surface rust starting to popup on the sunroof panel Cinnabar Red (OEM Code 138) paint has some areas where the clear coat has started to fail. WHEELS AND TIRES Five (5) Factory BMW BBS Basket weave alloy wheels Four New Tires, two mounted & balanced with very few miles and Two (2) unmounted. ELECTRICAL AND ACCESSORIES Original AM-FM - Weather- Cassette Radio has an intermittent short and sometimes has static on the radio bands but cassette works good. Included in the spare parts is an Alpine Cassette Radio that is a direct swap, plug and play replacement. Factory A/C system has not been converted from R30 yet and needs to be recharged. Passenger’s side electric window switch only work to lower window, will not raise window. (I swapped switches and the window will work fine) EXHAUST Original factory exhaust system including Catalytic convertors, aftermarket replacement ANSA Sport muffler, all in good condition. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES Four wheel disk Brakes all around and in good condition (New Pads & Caliper rebuild kits for front & rear and new front rotors in new spare parts) Steering is tight and crisp Current Suspension is in great condition except for somewhat weak shocks. When I stalled the M3 springs about four years ago I also replaced the lower control arms w/ball joints, tie rod ends and all the rubber bushing in the front end. Don’t forget included in the new parts is a Brand new H&R Touring Cup Kit Suspension Package - Kit which includes a set of H&R Touring Cup Springs, 2 Front Strut inserts and 2 Rear Shocks. This kit will slightly lower the ride height and replace the weak shocks. Any questions please feel free to ask. Contact me by E-Mail/Message, give me your phone number and I will call you.
