Vehicle Detail
I'm moving and although I love this car I don't want to move it. The "Buy It Now" price is fair but I will also offer it at NO RESERVE! http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1977/Chevrolet/Corvette/2-Door-Coupe/Values Up for auction is a 1977 Corvette with 78458 miles. It runs, drives, stops and handles flawlessly. Everything works except the clock. A/C blows cold, heater blows hot, power windows go up and down. Cruise control holds speed accurately. Tilt and telescopic steering wheel works perfectly. Factory alarm system works perfectly. That's what the key slot on the front fender forward of the flags is for (early 1977). Later 1977 the factory alarm activation was moved to the drivers door lock. This car was dealer serviced most of it life. Almost completely numbers matching. At some point in its life it was repainted to Corvette Yellow. It is an older repaint. There are some stone chips and minor scratches but still looks good at any distance. The nose and body are in great condition. No cracks!!! Original paint code is 26L which is Light Blue Metallic. Interior is in great shape but the seats really show their age and currently are covered to protest them. The trim code is 152 which is Smoke Gray but the door panels and seats are white. Thought this was strange until after some research I found what the code ZJ1 means on the trim tag. This is a quote from one of the many Corvette Forums. “In 1976/1977 on the body trim plate-code ZJ1 which is located in the upper left corner just above the interior code stands for (CUSTOM INTERIOR TWO-TONE). This option was never listed in any sales brochures or dealer handouts. It took an override to order a new corvette with this option. I have only heard of maybe 4 to 5 1976/1977's with this code. I have a 77 L-82 4 speed with this override option.” Bob Beck Although I have tons of paperwork with this car, I don’t have the original order sheet. Still, the ZJ1 trim code potentionally makes this car rare. Or as rare as a 1977 can be. Drivetrain: The engine was rebuilt (receipts included). The engine block serial number matches the last six digits of the VIN as it should. The cylinder heads on the other hand are late model Vortec heads. No foul since they are an improvement over the stockers. Also, there is an aftermarket aluminum intake. The stock Quadrajet was installed when I bought the car but I’ve since replaced it with a Jet Performance Stage II Quadrajet. Runs much better but could still use a little tweaking. The stock Quadrajet is included in the auction. I run Amsoil Synthetics in the motor, rear end and transmission. Tires, brakes and Wheels: Tires have plenty of tread. Brakes have been replaced with EBC pads. Wheels are the stock Corvette mags with correct lug nuts. Misc: The original jack and lug wrench are intact. This car also has a luggage rack and includes all the brackets to attach the T-tops to the luggage rack. The straps in the cargo area for securing the tops internally are all intact. Also have storage bags for the tops. Air conditioning was retrofitted to 134a and blows cold air. Converted the alternator to a 200 amp 3 wire internal regulator so no more faulty external regulator to deal with. Vacuum actuators for the headlights are in working condition. All vacuum hoses in great shape. If you hate people asking about your car everytime you get gas this isn't the car for you. If you’re looking for a rare optioned driver quality Corvette look no further. It wouldn’t take much to get her back to numbers matching. As many of you know these are only going up in value. I’m including a ton of receipts from 1979 to present. They show that this car was dealer serviced most of its life and show mileage progression throughout its life. I will answer any and all questions so ask away. Happy bidding! On Aug-27-14 at 18:38:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Although I would personally drive this car anywhere it is a 37 year old car and will be sold AS IS where it is. No guarantee implied of given. On Aug-29-14 at 15:00:16 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple things to add. I have an all weather car cover that is included when the car sells. Also, if the winning bidder decides to fly and drive the closest airport is Rapid City, SD about 20 miles from where the car is located.
