Vehicle Detail

For sale is my completely original 1951 Chevy 3100 5 window pickup with just 78,013 miles. (3104 to be exact) It is equipped with a 216 Inline 6 cylinder, manual transmission "3 on the tree". This truck was purchased new and then given to their son who drove the truck up until recently. (I am technically the third, titled owner). I am unsure if this truck has been painted before, it is still Red which was its original color from new. The paint is very weathered and has great appealing "patina". All the lights work, horn still works, brake light still works. All of the gauges work as should, the outer part of the needle on the speedometer has broken off though. The spare tire is still intact and hanging from the rear of the truck. The gas tank behind the back seat is in great shape. The frame is in excellent shape other then the years of dirt, grime, and some light surface rust. The exterior panels do have dings but no metal has been replaced. There are 3 areas that have rotted through--- The passenger floor pan in front of the battery box, both front fenders at the very bottom (see pictures). The wood bed is original and deteriorating. The trucks engine starts and runs, after a few minutes it feels as if it is starving for fuel (possible carb issue). All the gears in the transmission work as should, clutch also works good. It runs and drives down the road like a truck of its age, which is very cool and is a head turner everywhere! The engine does leak oil around the pan area, the output shaft seal leaks gear oil, and the carb may seap gas, its not leaking but there is gummy buildup around it. The generator and starter are both Delco original parts. The heater and blower still work good and are original. The cowl vent still opens from the inside and gives an amazing rush of fresh air while driving down the road. The brakes are weak but do work ok after a quick fluid bleed. Parking brake works perfectly! THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET PARTS ON THIS TRUCK!! 3 out of the four wheel covers are original, the 4th is off another classic chevrolet. All the windows are intact, both door window vents open and lock. Both door windows operate up and down smoothly as should. All the door handles and window cranks are original and intact. There is a lot of original charm to this truck. I have the original bill of sale form from the Chevrolet dealer in Colorado. I have a registration receipt from state of CO from 1988. I have the original and in excellent shape Owners Manual. Inside the door jamb there are a couple of oil change/maintenance stickers from the 1960's that are still legible. The truck spent most of its life in Colorado but had been in Arizona for a long time now. State of Arizona does check the mileage on the title as "Box A- Accurate mileage. I have a ton more of pictures that I couldn't list, if there is anything specific you would like to see call or text me at 623-606-2034On Aug-23-14 at 21:35:05 PDT, seller added the following information: For sale is my completely original, matching numbers, 1951 Chevy 3100 5 window pickup with just 78,013 miles.
