Up for auction is my 1957 R50 BMW. I am the second owner. I bought it from the original owner in 1994. It had been sitting in his garage for ten years. I went through everything to get her ready to ride. Of everything I replaced, I still have the original part. I replaced the original handle bars with european with the cables and bar end turn signals. I replaced exhaust pipes and mufflers. Before I bought the bike I had a pair of original enduro bags or some refer to them as BB bags, which I put on. They are in very good shape with no cracks.I put on headlight mirrows, a headlight guard, new petcocks, a flanders side stand, a very, very comfortable wide duel seat. I replaced original float tops on carburators with lever tops for better sealing. ( I still have originals ). I replaced original points system with upgrade to Pentacomm system. It has original tire pump and owners manual. Tires have good tread, but are older and probably should be replaced. When I got the bike running the speedometer worked, but the odometer did not. It showed 5,768 miles. I sent it to Palo Alto Speedometer to have it refurbished. It now has 7,066 miles on it. I will probably put a few more on. This bike is awesome to ride, I still get goose bumps when I take It out. Always starts on 1st or 2nd kick. Please look at all the pictures very carefully before bidding. There is a dent on the left muffler, on the front part . ( see picture ). Recently,the right turn signal stopped working. Happy Bidding.
