This 1953 MD TD Replica is based on a 1968 Volkswagen Bug chassis and the ultra reliable 1500 CC VW engine. This is NOT a run-of-the-mill kit car built in someone's garage. This is a true replica from the world famous "Fiberfab" company and was assembled in 1987. Fiber Fab is the #1 premier conversion/replica company that was famous in the 1980's for their impeccable assembly work on replica MG-TDs, Mercedes Gazelles, Dune Buggys, etc. BRAND NEW PARTS INCLUDE: * 30 pic Carburetor* 5 New Radial Tires* Solid Mahogany Steering Wheel* Side Wind Wings Also included is the complete Fiberfab assembly manual with diagrams. Plenty of room for a taller person to drive -- I'm 6'1 and fit quite comfortably in the driver's seat. Runs amazingly smooth, will get up to 75 MPH quickly and purrs like a kitten on the highway. With the exception of a few minor cosmetic flaws that you would expect on an older vehicle, she is in great condition. The bright red paint is glossy and eye-catching, the VW 1500 CC engine is mechanically sound and very easy to work on, and the exhaust note sounds great. No rust on the pan and the fiberglass body is in excellent condition. I have owned several sports cars over the past 30 years, and I can honestly say that I have NEVER received the amount of positive attention that I get every single time I drive this car. SO much fun to drive! All parts for the interior, exterior and engine are VERY readily available from a few different companies, and are extremely affordable. My favorite parts supplier is MG Magic and their website is mgmagicclassicmotorparts.com/about-us/ I have purchased several cars on Ebay or over the internet, and the shipping process for vehicles is much easier and less expensive than most people assume. I will be happy to assist you in coordinating shipping the car to your front door (at your cost). I also have a brand new beige convertible top available with the side curtains, cockpit cover and tonneau (boot) cover, that I have not yet installed; all of which are for sale at an additional cost and NOT included in the purchase price of the car.
