Vehicle Detail

If you're looking for an original unmodified early Viper, this is it. No aftermarket wings, ugly graphics, custom subwoofers, or chrome wheels, this is just like it came out of the factory. As far as I can tell it has never seen a drop of rain, certainly not while I've owned it. I purchased it in San Jose, CA in 2007 and have only driven it 2-3 times a year since. It only has 26k miles, but it looks like less. It had the original 14-year old tires (date code verified) when I bought it, and there was plenty of tread left on them, so I know it wasn't driven too hard or tracked. I replaced those tires a few years ago, they were hard as hockey pucks. This is an “antenna car”, meaning it's an early-93 model, which shares all it's characteristics with the 1992, most notably the rear antenna and “Viper” brake calipers. There were 1403 total 1993's made, and only the first 600 or so were “antenna cars”. This is car #142 according to the VIN. So whether you're looking for a collector car, or an unmodified starting point, this is a great choice. There are fewer of these every year, the remaining ones are only going to become more valuable. Surprisingly, my insurance went up less than $100 for a 6-month payment. That's less than $17/month. That was with a clean record and extra liability-only coverage. Your mileage may vary. The car runs fantastic. No squeaks, rattles, or strange noises. The alignment is perfect. All fluids look good and are at correct levels. I changed the oil (Mobil 1) the day after I brought it home, and the level hasn't moved a millimeter on the dipstick. It's always stored covered in my climate-controlled garage. Once a month I start it, and if the weather cooperates, drive it around the driveway to keep things lubricated. The top, side and rear windows are in excelent condition and come with the original storage bags. They all fit neatly into the trunk. It also comes with some plexiglas side windows that look like they were home made, I've never used them. The tires only have about 2000 miles on them and are in perfect condition. The one significant flaw is a previous owner managed to scratch the edge of all 4 wheels. (see picture below) I looked into getting them repainted and it would only cost about $150 each, but I never got around to it. What's not original: It has an aftermarket alarm (Viper of course). The factory keyless entry module was removed, but they are still available, and occasionally show up on eBay for around $70 (there are 2 listed right now). There is an Alpine radio/CD head unit in place of the factory cassette player. I found an original correct Viper cassette player and will include it with the car. Bluetooth audio receiver plugged into the factory amplifiers and hidden in the trunk (no modifications to the car). The front license plate was installed with an aftermarket “no-drill” bracket that bolts to the frame instead of through the bumper. The original rear license plate screws will be included. This was my dream car, and I'm going to miss it. But I'm between jobs and need to pay the mortgage while I'm retraining. If it weren't for my situation, I'd never let it go. Someday I'll be able to get another and I hope it'll be as nice as this one.
