Thanks for looking at my Triumph TR6 - a “driver” in need of some TLC. I’ve aged to where I am no longer able to maintain the car as it should be. (Car has been on the road through August 2014 when I transferred plates to another vehicle.) Specs: 1976 TR-6 with a 4 speed manual transmission. 69,147 miles. I am the second owner (since 1983). It has not been driven in winter or inclement weather. Convertible top (replaced since new) with boot cover / no tears & windows clear. 2 ignition keys - 1 glove box key - 1 trunk lid key. Seats good with no rips or tears. All gauges working (see photo - taken engine cold & idling 1000 RPM). Windshield clean and clear – one very small "pencil point" stone chip (in upper center). I replaced clutch (bushings, cross shaft, fork, throw-out bearing, clutch & drive plate [both Borg & Beck] - working very well although hydraulic cylinder starting to leak). Replaced muffler & front pipe. Recently rebuilt alternator. I installed spin-on oil filter adapter. Solid steel (not spoke) wheels – tubeless tires ok. Haynes service manual & original handbook included. The engine starts easily and runs well. The car has had two body repairs (to left door - professionally repaired). What the car needs: As a “driver”: Forward wiring harness (under hood) damaged in three places due to alternator failure. Heat compromised insulation resulting in corrosion of the wire bundle. (Prefab bundles are still available.) Everything still working except horn. The hydraulic clutch cylinder should be refurbished (honed, flushed, refilled & bled). I have a cylinder rebuild kit that will come with the car. Air distribution control cable needs repair (these can be disassembled and repaired - I just haven't gotten to it). Driver and passenger floor carpets need replacement and cleanup of the interior floor pans. Original Michelin red stripe tires still have good tread, but there is age-related “checking” near the treads on all. Long-distance or high-speed driving not recommended. A current wheel alignment is probably appropriate if the car is to be driven long-distance or high-speed. Shock absorbers are undoubtedly near end of life. Sun visors are original; they are “tired” and should be replaced. As a show car: There is no frame, rocker panel or exterior rust (some surface rust on inside of floor pans under area of floor mats). So, this car is a very good candidate for a complete or partial restoration. Some dings and dents in hood and trunk lid, scratch in paint on right front fender forward of wheel (see photo) and small dent in left rear fender near wheel opening (see photo). Some fading of paint on hood. Terms: This car is being sold “as-is” “where-is” with no warranty. Title reflects lien holder but there is an accompanying lien release letter. (I messed up on my purchase and forgot to check - however, after buying the vehicle, I obtained the lien release letter with no difficulty. I never bothered to obtain a revised title.) $500 deposit due within 48 hours of purchase. (Paypal accepted for deposit amount only.) Remaining payment via wire transfer or cashier's check within four business days (for a check, separately allow 4 business days to clear) and prior to pickup of the car.
