Vehicle Detail
This is a sweet and strong running 1978 Volkswagen Superbeetle Convertible. Lots of recent upgrades. Recently painted exterior, recent beige top with new black headliner. New upholstery front and rear, new carpeting. Battery new. Great tires and brakes. Engine runs super strong and starts without even touching the accelerator. Manual transmission smooth with absolutely no slipping or problems of any sort. Glass good all around with original chrome trim. Door glass on these cars was never tight fitting from what I've been told, but both sides easily roll up and down. The interior is super. Heater blows hot air. Has Alpine CD player that works well. Overall a very attractive and mechanically solid classic that can be a daily runner or fun for weekends in the mountains or at the beach. Fantastic gas mileage. This is a nice, classy, and super running example of a vintage classic sure to keep increasing in value. Checkout my Ebay feedback from over 10 yrs of buying and selling. I've done my best to describe the car. It's not a frame off restoration or you'd be paying $20 thousand. This great little collectible is over 36 yrs old so bid accordingly, but you'll never have to apologize to anyone about how she looks and runs. Parts are still readily available and much less expensive than parts for just about any vehicle ever made. . If you're looking for a very presentable, reliable, and fun classic convertible that you can always find inexpensive parts for, here it is. People constantly stop me and love to talk about their vintage Beetles.IMPORTANT: I bought this car recently after moving to California from a seller in Arizona. I found out that due to a past conversion from the often troubled fuel injected system to the more reliable and easily maintained carb intake that millions of older Beetles were equipped with, that the State of California will not allow it to be registered without a return to it's fuel injected beginnings. Unbelievable! Only stock engines meet their "visual" smog registration rules regardless of if the vehicle passes emission inspection! Also, in the State of Cal, you cant sell the car to another Californian unless it passes non-modification inspection. All this hassle for a vintage car that couldn't put out a tenth of the emissions that my '78 Ford F250 does which passes with no problem lol ! I cannot sell the car legally to another Cal resident since it's not registered, even with its clean title unless you want to purchase as a parts car. Therefore, DO NOT bid if you are a California resident unless you have a second out of state residence that the car would be registered with or are ok with it being sold as a parts car. From the research I did, California is the only State I found with an issue of this type, especially with a car that's a vintage classic and highly collectible. Feel free to message me with any questions. The title is clear. This is a great car that deserves to be driven and enjoyed, not sitting because it's got a carb like 99% of all vintage VW's do. My loss is your gain. Please check my feedback. I've been on Ebay for more than 14 yrs and have a 100% feedback rating. It's a bargain and listed at nearly $3000 less than I paid for it. A non-refundable deposit of $250 to paypal is required within 24 hrs of auction end. Take this classic home, drive it, and watch it increase in value as the years go by.Thanks for your interest in giving this baby a good home. Good Luck and enjoy!
