Vehicle Detail

1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 5-speed, 4x4, also has air conditioning and power steering which many Wranglers did not come with. Jeep has spent most of its life in Georgia and Tennessee. I drove it up to Michigan but I just moved back home and I'm about to start school. I wish I could keep the Jeep but I will not have a second parking place for it at my apartment. Mechanically its in great shape. Regular oil changes with recipes to verify. Had the clutch replaced about a year ago, newer soft top. Full size doors. New power steering box, U-joints. Radiator flush earlier this year. Has synthetic oil in it right now. I regularly did the maintenance on this jeep as a saturday afternoon hobby, anything that was out of my ability was done at a professional shop. The body has a few dings on the drivers side from when a driver brushed up against the jeep in a snow storm when driving up to Michigan. You could bang it out a little if you wanted but the door shuts fine and its a Jeep so its supposed to look a little rough, so I never really bothered to try to fix it. I forgot to add, the only thing this Jeep might need in the near future is some new Wheel bearings or a driveshaft U-joint. I had the Axle sided U-joints, and brakes changed and it drives fine but sometimes you hear a slight squeak from the front end, and the only thing that has not been replaced is the wheel bearings and the Ball joints, but ball joints don't make any squealing. I was going to replace these myself but then I had to move. Wheel bearings are cheap and can be done by yourself if you mechanically inclined or for cheap at a shop. Again you don't need to replace these right now as the Jeep drives fine, but this is the only thing I can think of that you might have to replace or repair in the near future. The original color is the rare Magenta purple. I had a paint shop put on some Plastidip Tan color and its still holding up well even after a year. You could peel off the plastidip if you wanted or put another plastidip color ontop as its easy to apply with just a spray paint can. The full size doors are a green color under the plastidip as they came from another jeep. The only place where the plastidip is peeling up is under the hood area on the front fenders but you don't see this area unless you lift the hood. Jeep has very little rust, only a few places with some small surface rust, but no problem areas as this Jeep spent most of its life in south Georgia free from snow and salt. Interior is in good condition, no serious rips or wear on seats, the passenger side carpet has a few stains from rain water, if it really pours down rain the passenger side floorboard will sometimes be a little damp, but nothing serious. Air conditioning and heater work great. The exhaust header is prone to cracking on these Jeeps, There was a slight exhaust leak when I got the jeep so I replaced the exhaust header with an OEM one and it has been fine since. I replaced the original engine and transmission mounts about a year ago, there was not anything wrong with them, I did this just for a saturday project to make the engine run super smooth which is does. The manual transmission and diff's have had their fluids changed per manufactures specs. Transmission shifts fine, sometimes if you have not driven the jeep in a few days you will get a tiny bit of surface rust on the flywheel and when starting up you will hear a bang, but then the jeep starts just fine. This is common to all of these jeeps with the AX-15 manual transmission and doesn't hurt anything. The clutch does not slip at all. All gears work. These AX-15 are more reliable than the newer 6 speed manual Chrysler started using in its place. If you know anything about these Jeep 4.0 inline 6's is that they are very reliable. This engine starts every time, idles smooth, has good power, doesn't smoke or burn any oil. Has a 2" lift with 31" MTR kevlar tires. The lift was professionally installed and comes with Bilstien shocks up front and Skyjacker hydro in the rear. The tires alone cost $1000. They are still in very good condition. Also, this Jeep wrangler has ABS which is super rare in these TJ wranglers. This is very useful for the snow. The previous owner replaced the entire dashboard with a 2006 model, this is nice because its not cracked like many of the Jeep wranglers out there. The owner did not swap the Vin plate off the dash, so there is no vin plate on the dash, but there is still the original Vin sticker on the door jam right next to the dash. I have always used that original sticker and never had a problem with emissions or inspections as I tell them the dash was replaced. Again, the title is clear, the jeep is not stolen or anything crazy, just use the vin sticker on the door jam for any inspections and you will be fine. Very reliable, starts up every time, does not leak any fluids. Lots of fun to drive with the doors and top off. Reserve is only $4000, highest bidder wins! I originally paid $7000 for this jeep 2 years ago and have spent about $2000 in maintenance and repairs, highest bidder gets it. clean title in hand. Refundable paypal $100 deposit due within 12 hours of auction end. Buyer is allowed to inspect and take the jeep for a test drive prior to full payment. If your the winning bidder and you take a look at the jeep and decided you don't want it, you do not have to pay for it and you get your $100 deposit back. Buyer is responsible for pickup, full payment due in person, cash or cashiers check. Please message with any questions, if you want to come take a look at it. Jeep wranglers are always in demand and they continue to have one of the highest resale values of any vehicle on the road. Of all the vehicles I have owned this is the only one that people have randomly offered to buy it from me!Vehicle is also for sale locally, so auction may end to sell to a locally buyer. Thanks!!
