Vehicle Detail
Greetings! Available for you to bid upon is one of the rarest jeeps in existence. Here is your chance to own a 1941 Ford Model GP Jeep. This jeep is a first-series GP, Serial Number 8653 with a Date of Delivery of March 18, 1941. Serial numbers started with #8500 making this the 153rd GP jeep assembled. This jeep is a numbers-matching vehicle with the frame, engine, and data plate on the body all clearly marked with 8653. After Uncle Sam I am the second civilian owner of the vehicle. This jeep is a total restoration candidate requiring attention to all components but is a great starting point as many of the major components are present and I have also accumulated many of the pieces needed. The body is complete but showing plenty of rust, rust perforations, dents and holes. The frame, suspension and drivetrain are complete and solid but show surface rust and will require a thorough going over. The engine is largely complete but has not been run since 1963 so will require a total rebuild. Some parts are missing among them the top bows, inner windshield, transmission cover, correct steering wheel and steering column, battery tray, air cleaner and headlight buckets. Many of the key components are included such as the Sparton horn, the spare tire carrier (but needs repaired), five (5) of the Kelsey-Hayes solid disc wheels, the rear bumperettes and most importantly: the Holley Model 847D carburetor with the air horn. Parts that I have accumulated and which are included are the front seat frames and backs, the rear seat frame, the instrument cluster, a Ford air cleaner, all four body grab handles and several other components necessary for a restoration. There is no title available but I will provide a bill of sale. Delivery is not available so you will be required to provide your own transportation for the jeep. A $500.00 deposit will be required at the conclusion of the auction and balance will be due before I can release the jeep. Paypal or cash are acceptable means of payment. Contact me with any questions. On-site inspections of the jeep are possible but you must contact me first to make arrangements. Good luck!
