LOTUS EUROPA TWIN CAM SPECIAL In 1971, the Type 74 Europa Twin Cam Special was introduced, powered by a 105 hp 1558 cc Lotus-Ford Twin Cam engine. With a weight of only 1630 lb, the car provided exceptional handling and performance. In subsequent years the improved Big Valve Twin Cam engine was provided and an optional five speed transmission was offered, with the four speed remaining as the standard transmission. Brand Lotus Alloy wheels were also offered as an option. This 1974 Europa has the Big Valve engine, 4 speed transmission, and optional Brand Lotus Alloy wheels with correct sized Bridgestone Potenza tires. The car had a rolling restoration about 15 years ago, at which time its engine, suspension, cooling and brake systems were overhauled and its bodywork and paint were professionally redone. The car has adjustable suspension settings front and rear, an improved radiator cooling fan, individually valved left and right fuel tanks, a master power switch, a trickle charger circuit and a cog belt water pump drive. Also included are the original toolkit and the two volume Workshop Manual. The car is great fun to drive. Steering is very responsive and the handling is pure Lotus, with solid, flat and fast cornering. I have never driven another car that compares to the Europa for handling. In order to feel confident that this is the car for you, I recommend that you personally inspect the car or have a third party inspect it for you.
