I'll try and keep my description brief as possible. Any questions that may arise that I fail to address may be answered by calling me directly. I will provide my ph# through EBAY'S "ask a question" to interested parties. This car was purchased used by my mother from Saab of Santa Monica many years ago. Being a somewhat elderly driver, she put very few miles on the car. The downside is that she also failed to keep up with regular oil changes which caused the formation of sludge and the engine to seize. A friend of mine who is a retired Saab mechanic rebuilt the motor for me, as well as performing many other much needed maintainence. Aside from the pistons, rings and main bearings, a valve job was done.The intercooler was removed and cleaned. The turbo unit was rebuilt, a new oil pressure switch installed. He replaced a bad motor mount, the chain tensioner, spark plugs, power steering fluid, serpentine belt. He completely drained and cleaned the automatic transmission and replaced the synthetic fluids. A new air and fuel filter were installed as well as a new thermostat. Rebuilt LCD screen in dash display.I continued to drive the car as a daily driver up until a year and a half ago when I purchased a new Pruius. I had every intention of keeping the car but the radiator went out on me as my family and I were in the middle of a move and I didn't have the time necessary to fix it. Since then, I've installed a new radiator, a Saab OEM ignition cassette ($400. part), and new (over $500.) Goodyear Eagle GT tires. This car could easily last another 300k miles with regular scheduled synthetic oil changes. I recently had it smog checked for registration and it passed like a brand new car. I have the emissions test results to prove it. This car has all the bells and whistles. Heated leather seats, power windows and sunroof. Aluminum wheels. The interior is nearly flawless. When my mother bought the car it came with a clean carfax report. The car itself has 82,480 original miles on it with approx. 5,000 on the new motor. The few flaws I should mention are as follows: The paint is beginning to show it's age as some of the clear coat is peeling. There are several dings and scratches/scrapes. All cosmetic in nature. Parking lot type stuff, no collisions. It will need the shocks replaced at some point as well as new brake pads. While there is still life left on the current pads, they are nearing the end of their lifespan. The power antennae was torn off in a car wash incident and replaced with a flexible rubber one. The reception hasn't quite been the same since. This is a great, safe, fast and fun car to drive. Mechanically speaking, it's very solid. I've driven the car on vacation to New Mexico without an issue. A/C blows cold. It gets very good gas mileage (if you stay off the pedal). The only reason I'm selling it as it's a fourth car for our family and doesn't get used that much. Please feel free to come have a look at it or arrange for a mechanical inspection. I even still have both original Saab keys with factory alarm remotes. Although this is a a vertually no reserve auction,the car is listed for sale locally and the auction may end at any time.
