Vehicle Detail
For sale is this well cared for, trophy winning, 1986 Fiero GT. It is fully loaded and some of the options include pw, pl, pm, cruise, AM/FM CD player, as well as the very desirable, ultra-rare, T-top roof package. I have owned the car since 1998 and under my care, it has been safely tucked away and stored indoors always. Maintenance has always been performed timely & professionally as needed. This was my childhood dream car and I've had it so long and put so much love, money, & care in it that it will be hard to see it go. However, the reality is that I have 5 cars and I have used this one very little over the last decade+, putting easily less than 1000 miles on it during that time going to car shows, pleasure drives, and other similar events. Also, my interests have grown in my business, family, and other US sports cars and I simply can't find the time the car deserves to have. I have also ran out of room and have been paying to store it offsite, to fully insure it, and to keep vanity plates on it, thus the cost to own and maintain exceeds the return for me. As it stands, I have well over $18k into this car, much of this between a custom Candy Apple paint job and a 3.4 V6 motor upgrade that I had put in. This motor was done by sort of a Fiero legend, Mr. Ed Parks who ran The Fiero Factory down in Toney, Alabama at the time. Total cost for the motor was about $5k including a new clutch and headers. The candy paint and custom work I had done was just about another $5k. More recently I put $1500+ in all new tires & wheels which have 200 total miles on them. Finally, to get it ready for it's next adventures, I took it to my best friends detail & repair shop and had them go over everything on the car, get it tuned up, and then replace any parts that were worn or potentially failing prematurely since it has sat so much while I've owned it. They did a complete oil change and tune up & while doing so they replaced the brakes(all new), rotors(all new), (4) new disk brake calipers, new shift cable, plugs, master cylinder, EGR valve, throttle sensor, idle air controller, fuel pump, fuel pump strainer, fuel filter, Oil sending unit, thermostat, and coolant temp sensor totaling over $1500 more to get it road worthy. Going forward, the only thing I am aware of not working as originally equipped on the car is that the A/c is not blowing cold and could need to be recharged or converted to R-134a. I should have taken care of this already but this was just never a real high priority as I almost always drove with the t-tops off and the windows down and that cooled the car off quite well so the A/C was typically not something I would use. That pretty well covers a concise but thorough history and summary of what I know about this vehicle. For the asking price I am looking for (WAY less than even 1/2 of what i have in the car), I believe that you will be hard pressed to find a more unique, attention getting machine available anywhere in the country. I know that I have seen several somewhat, comparable GT models for sale this summer that have had an asking price twice as high as this or even more. Please do keep in mind that this vehicle is a 28 year old car and thus it is not showroom perfect everywhere, but rest assured that this vehicle is indeed in amazing condition for it's age and it is often confused for a more recently released modern model by the general public. Also, please be advised that this vehicle is for sale locally as well as it is being advertised on several other national websites and therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells via any of these other channels prior to this auction's end. Okay, thanks very much for your time to read the listing and please contact me (Lee) to discuss further, to answer any questions you may have, or to set up a visit to see and/or purchase this one of a kind vehicle.
