1964 Datsun 320 Pickup truck. Here's a cool piece of history you don't see very often! There weren't a lot of these imported to the US at that time, and this one is in better than average condition overall after spending it's life in the Southern California desert, and not seeing the road since the early 1980's I recently acquired this thing, and was going to do a rat-rod thing with it, but two things changed my mind. First, it won't fit around the engine I want to use without major modifications. Second, and more importantly, so much of it is there, and is in pretty darn good condition, that it really would be a good candidate for a restoration and I'd feel guilty tearing it apart. Understand this vehicle needs a COMPLETE RESTORATION. While most of it is there, some parts are missing, (listed below) and what IS there needs to be gone over completely. It currently is a rolling chassis, steering works. No brakes though. From what I can tell, this vehicle has not been registered since 1984. (the last two registrations from 1982 and 1984 with UNUSED license plate stickers still in the little baggies were in the glovebox.) Comes with BOTH CA issued BLUE and gold DMV license plates. If you want to do the retro look, you're golden. Long out of the CA DMV system. Comes with a bill of sale, no title. DMV tells me you can bring the vehicle to them along with the paperwork and old registrations, and they'll issue a new title for it. The good: 97% of the vehicle is there. It's relatively low rust, much of what you see is just surface rust. The bed is in almost excellent shape. Someone lined the inside of the bed with plywood, so the bed doesn't even have any dents in it. I guarantee you'll NEVER find a bed in this condition ever. There is some surface rust, and a couple of small holes where the screws used to hold the plywood in were. A quick sandblast and new coat of paint, and it would look new. Floors are solid. Many of these had holes in the floors, but not this one. Tailgate is in great shape, and works nicely. Doors are solid. Door glass is good, and they roll up cleanly. Door handles work too. Headlight and grille chrome is there, but needs refinishing. Side moulding is on the vehicle, and is in great shape. Fenders, doors, bed sides, and cab don't have any dents. Rear mini bumpers are in great shape. Front bumper needs to be refinished, but isn't banged up. Interior is clean but needs refinishing. Engine is just sitting lose in the engine bay. Condition is unknown. Plan on it needing a complete overhaul. Has 5 rims, all original with the nubs for the hubcaps. Comes with BOTH blue and gold DMV license plates. You can re-register this vehicle using these old style plates if you wish. The Bad/Whats missing: Some small rust holes in each rocker panel.Couple of small rust holes in the top of the cab. (the metal in these cabs was pretty thin. Windshield is brokenRear window missing. (fortunately, that's flat glass and should be easy to have made.) Hood is MissingSide emblems are Missing.Hubcaps are there, but are pretty shot. Carb is missing.Engine crank is missing: (Believe it or not, these vehicles came with a hand crank that when through a hole in the front bumper so you could hand start the engine in the even the starter died.
