Vehicle Detail
Today I am selling a 1937 Buick Special. This car was actually registered as a 1938 in NYS because it was up to the state back then on how they registered it. This was pre VIN#. All of the original serial numbers are still on the car body, motor and chassis. The original owner winterized this car in 1958 and died, That car is from Upstate NY but was stored in a garage on blocks for the last 57 years. We pruchased this and got a got a current transferrable Registration from NYS. This car is presently registered. We had the car shipped here to our shop where it is slated to be modified into a 4 door pro-touring with and LS1 motor or we will mod out the straight 8. We are really booked up with builds at this time so I am possibly looking to part with this even though I am very excited to get on this in the fall. I actually pulled the original lights and converted to a 6 volt sealed beam for ease of replacement and put in a new 6 volt battery. I checked the oil and it was still golden yellow from its last oil change in 58. I inspected everything, cleaned the carb and this thing fired right up .This car actually drives great. Transmission, clutch and Motor run perfect with no leaks. The brakes are good. Fuel is in a 5 gallon can in the trunk because the Lead tore the old one up.this car has some real minor surface rust spots but that is it. This car is complete and for someone with a little skill this is essentuallly and tear down snad blast everything paint all the parts, reassemble and it is restored. No parts shopping for anything on this car. These cars are starting to become very rare. A local company here called Street Side Classics just sold one that was actually done up a little with new Caddy seats, nice paint, disc breaks and a buick 455 motor and it sold for 48k. That build was not more than a 20k build. That being said restore it back to stock on the cheap or modify but either way this is a solid investment to make money with or to just have a secured investment that still appreciates over time.
