1969 Camaro RS/SS X22 Big Block 396/325 HP show condition Coupe for sale by private owner.This car looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. Treated to a frame off restoration that was completed 2/3rd's by prior owner/collector from 2009-2010. I purchased the car in Feb. of 2011 and finished the restoration. The Camaro has taken first place in every Camaro class category when shown.Essentially if it needed replaced or restored it was done.Just too much to list individually. A folder with receipts 5 inches thick of receipts is included. The trim tag shows it is an X-22 style trim group with 396 engine SS model ,build date 09D (Sept),Garnet Red paint (52), black standard trim (711).The engine is period correct 396/325 HP, engine suffix code CE-9 (sept), CE (warranty replacement block) block # 3955272 k14 date (nov). It could be very well be the original replacement block as the date lines up and the prior owner agreed, but I am unsure , so I am listing the engine as period correct. The engine, transmission and drivetrain completely rebuilt in 2009-2010. Transmission is an M-20 Hurst 4 -speed Date 'S' (Nov. also) .Rear end 12 bolt posi-traction with 373 gearing.Quadrajet Carburetor #7028210 EE appears to line up with similar dating as the engine. Cylinder heads #3931063 closed oval port.The body is laser straight, painted in 2009 with base garnet red clear coat, professionally wet sanded and buffed to a mirror shine, All new sheet metal, fenders and quarters replaced, no bondo. Vinyl top was replaced as well. Much of the glass is original except the front windshield. I replaced the interior,floor mats , door panels and carpet and door handles. The exhaust (chambered) and gas tank were also replaced as the suspension,steering components and shocks also. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, components were either replaced or restored to originality. New BF Goodrich TA radials are brand new mounted on SS wheels, new spare with SS wheel as well. The car performs well and drives straight down the road. All gauges work. Mileage 55,580 unknown if this is original or not. The vinyl top has an very tiny tear measuring 1/8 of an inch, very few people notice it. Its almost undetectable and has been repaired, the left hideaway headlamp RS door sometimes needs 'coaxing' to open, possibly a vacuum leak. Only reason I am selling this is I have my sights set on a c6 or c7 corvette .It would cost much more to build this car than what I am asking for. I haven't driven the car for awhile until yesterday and discovered a lifter tick, it doesn't affect the performance of the car, but nevertheless might need adjustment.The seat belts have been replaced due to original ones were in poor condition. As stated earlier this car is in excellent condition but not perfect.Most of the knowledge of the history of this car comes from the previous owner (s),thus, inspections are encouraged.
