Vehicle Detail
!!!Last chance on this 64 Star Chief!!! We have listed this car a couple of times before on here and this will be the final time. Its not as cool or desirable as a Grand Prix or GTO but a car of this type, in this condition is nearly impossible to find these days. When was the last time you saw a full size 4 door in original unrestored condition that needed nothing? Its way nicer than a ratrod, its not a trailer queen, you can actually drive this car anywhere and it DRIVES AMAZING. Driving this car brings you back to the days when America built great cars; they had style, they had personality, they were works of art and they had build quality and parts that lasted. This 50 year old car rides and drives better than most cars that are only 10-12 years old. AND IT STILL HAS MOST OF ITS ORIGINAL PARTS! Shocks, springs, bearings, bushings, brake shoes, original transmission - NOT REBUILT, rear axle - NOT REBUILT, 3 of the original 50 year old T3 headlights! The AM radio and dash speaker are just as crisp sounding as they were in 64. The car had been parked since 1982 in a garage with 2 blown head gaskets. When we got it, we pulled the engine out, rebuilt it, restored the engine bay and put it all back as it should be. The 2 bbl 389 is the rare 17M code hi compression engine rated at 238hp and 418ft. lbs of torque; as such it does require premium fuel. The trans shifts smooth and does not slip. It accelerates with authority and cruises with class while still being reasonable on gas; to drive this car is to fall in love with this car. Most people dont realize that the Big 3 put most of their neatest styling and best stuff into the fullsize cars because thats what the wealthy people were buying; the smaller cars got the cheap plastic and inferior parts, the big flagship cars got steel and etched glass, inlays and chrome, sadly most of these cars rot in fields or were thrown away years ago. Dont let this one get away, dont let it sit any longer, it deserves to be driven, it needs to be driven. Sit proudly in this classic American automobile and drive it around so people can see what it was like when American manufacturing was in its prime. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! On Apr-26-14 at 15:40:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Small but important mistake, I swapped the numbers on the power rating 283hp not 238. Thanks for pointing that out.On Apr-27-14 at 07:01:02 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a couple of questions; there is NO rust on this car and it has not been repaired from an accident, it has been sitting in a garage since 1982 and was a 1 owner car from new until we got it.
