Vehicle Detail

Selling my very solid and great running 1978 f100 pickup. It has a 300 6cyl engine, auto trans,2.75 geared rear for good mpg (always avg'd out between 15-18 mpg with the original catalytic converter in place, remove that and mileage should get even better), cold ac,ps,pb,delay wipers,2wd and 8ft bed. Truck has zero rust through on the body (has some surface rust here and there under the thin black primer, but nothing anywhere near rust through or even heavily pitted) but does have a dent above drivers tail light, on pass bed side and pass cab corner which I tried to show in pics and video (pass door opens and closes fine it was just locked when I tried to open it in video). Truck runs and handles like a just off the lot 1978 truck, very tight, smooth and comfortable. It's daily driver reliable and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere. The following list of parts have been replaced within the last 600 miles Carb, fuel pump, ignition box, heater core, radiator, water pump,t-stat,all belts, all hoses,235-75-15 tires and later model chrome wheels, halogen headlights, radio with usb/sd drive, door speakers, reupholstered seat, power brake booster, rear wheel cylinders, exhaust manifold, dist cap+rotor+plugs and wires,u joints,shocks,38 gallon gas tank+hoses+sending unit(gas gauge works intermittently, may be gauge itself),delay wiper setup+wiper blades, temp gauge sending unit, various vac lines and a few other odds and ends. ***Actual mileage of truck is unknown but based on condition of truck 89,664 showing on odometer wouldn't surprise me.*** These trucks in this solid, tight great running condition are getting hard to find. Only selling because we have one vehicle too many and we may be moving out of state in the near future. Bring your mechanic, bring your body man along to look the truck over. the master cylinder has a small leak which will need to be fixed eventually(I have purchased a new one, but haven't had it put on yet), but truck stops fine, windshield has a crack in the center but that didn't stop it from passing state inspection, and also the kick down rod needs to be lengthened a couple inches (or put correct 6cyl/c6 rod on) and hooked back up. Those are the only two things I can think of that should be taken care of mechanically eventually and both very simple fixes. It has the usual for it's age/era valve cover, side covers and oil pan seepage but nothing too serious at all, I just want the prospective buyers to realize it may leave a spot on the ground over time. It has recently been Louisiana state inspected. Truck comes with some spare parts as well like a new ac condenser (original condenser on truck now does appear to have a small leak), NOS ford ac filter dryer, all the tailgate trim to convert it to XLT Lariat trim, bright drip rail trim, spare duraspark ign module, new master cyl and some other small odds and ends. I also have the original smog pump with brackets and egr tube for states that require all smog equipment hooked back up. The major detract to this truck is the paint job or lack of one I should say but this also shows the buyer there is nothing to hide. The previous owner had given it a rattle can primer black cover for whatever reason but the paint under it is thin, dry, cracking, peeling etc Looks to have been repainted once in it's life. The truck doesn't look to have been used hard at all since the inside of the bed is virtually dent free but I would plan on at least sanding and putting a good sealer primer on it, maybe pick a panel a weekend until it's covered and protected if you're a DIY'r.. I tried to get as good a pics as possible and hope the video helps as well. However if there are certain areas you want a better pic of don't hesitate to contact me and ask questions. Also check out my seller feedback as I have 100% perfect feedback and always try to do my best to describe an item. Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end listing at any time for a local sale. If you are thinking of buying it now or making a offer, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns, I can even give you my phone number if it's easier to discuss over the phone. ***** would consider partial trade for certain hunting related items as well***** Last time I listed this truck I had 50+ watchers, just a heads up if/when this truck sells, its not the type of auction where you will be able to see the sale price for any sort of reference to gauge your own truck sale. If your interested in the truck, make an offer, ask a question or whatever. Putting its classic truck status aside, its a very reliable daily driver truck thats good on gas and has cold ac. thanks and please do not contact me with offers to sell the truck for me, sign me up for any selling service etc
