For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet I am selling this truck for my son in law. This is his description of his truck: I have known this truck for over 20 years as it belonged to my parents neighbor when I was growing up. This owner was an old man who worked on a lawn mowers for a living in a small town of 4000 people. It seemed that he only drove it to the parts store and back or only on short trips in town. Years later after his passing when I was finally able to purchase the truck I had wanted for many years I found it to only have 78xxx miles on it. As far as I can tell the truck seems to be all original numbers matching. With the exception of a newer Edelbrock carburetor and an engine dress up kit (though I have the original valve covers as well). Additionally, it has very little rust. As can be seen in the pictures, there is some rust in the back wall of the bed. However, it is just a bolt in panel held by 6-8 bolts. Rust is also present in the rocker panels and in one small hole in the right lower corner of the drivers door. All in all the truck is extremely straignt and is in Amazing shape. It now has 88xxx miles on it and it is dependable enough to drive anywhere. Since owning it for the last 6 years I have put tires on it, gaskets, hoses and belts. Also I took it to the local VO-Tech mechanics class and had the front and rear main seals changed and also the front seal in the transmission. However, unfortunately even though I spent $800 on those repairs, since students did them, they still leak though not as bad as before. Also, after my wife and children coasted through a stop sign due to not "pumping the brakes" I had the entire brake system gone through as well and pumping is no longer a necessary. Bottom line, this is a very nice original truck that is extremely road worthy. Though I planned on keeping this truck for the rest of my life, I am now moving the mountains of Colorado and had to buy a 4x4 so the wife sys the 'ol truck has to go! My loss is your gain!
