1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am – LOW RESERVE 1978 was certainly a banner year for the Pontiac Trans Am. The Pontiac engineers were putting their best effort forward, creating a harmony between horsepower and handling. Over 90,000 Trans Ams, nearly half of the total Firebird production made it into the hands of willing consumers. This Trans Am has a very nice black paint job with no visible rust that I can see anywhere. I had the wheels professionally refinished and new tires installed. Mechanically, the car runs strong. I also had the front and rear seats redone. The remaining interior shows some wear, but can show well by completing the minor details. Otherwise, the car is ready to just get in it and go! I don’t think the radio works and there may be a gauge or two not working, couple exterior decals missing, etc. The power windows work and the carburetor was just rebuilt. There is new factory correct complete exhaust system installed on car. Engine is 403 Olds.
