Vehicle Detail
Super rare and cool old Ford truck. This was one of 50 or so F-250 pickups converted by a custom coach company into a crew cab for the United States Air Force 1960. The truck has a clear title and does run and the clutch works but it has absolutely NO brakes right now. The truck is totally complete and unrestored as you can see. The good news of that is that you can see EVERYTHING that's wrong with it. The bad news is that you can see EVERYTHING that's wrong with it.The cab has rust and will need metal replacement in the door steps, along the drip rails and on the passenger side rear door. The rear door just appears to be a front door that was cut down so even reskinning it wouldn't be bad. The interior is complete and needs redone but you aren't chasing non-existent rear seats or anything else. The government spec tag is still riveted to the dash. Air Force markings are still painted in places under the hood and elsewhere.Someone threw a rock through the windshield. It needs replaced. The bed is magnificent. It's one of the nicest beds I've seen on any old Ford truck and has no rust issues or damage. The tailgate is also intact and appears rust free. The entire doghouse is also in nice condition. It's an 8 lug truck with 16 inch rims and dry rotted tires. I'm going to offer it for sale one time and will not take offers for less.I've got a 2005 crown victoria that I am going to steal the suspension, rearend, engine, and transmission out of to install in this if I keep it. The Crown Vic swap on early ford trucks is actually quite easy and nice.So if you want a running, restorable rare ford Crew Cab, here's your chance. One sold last week for $5000 with no drivetrain and completely disassembled. A cab with no bed or driveline sold last fall for $3200. Those are the only others I've seen for sale in the last 12 months. I'll post more pictures.
