Vehicle Detail
Here she is with a LOW reserve - a hard to find and highly collectible 1956 Ford Thunderbird that RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT, STARTS RIGHT UP THE FIRST TIME AND IS EXTREMELY SOLID! Comes with two tops, the removable fiberglass hard top with portholes and soft top as well! This T-bird also has the Continental kit. This car has dealer option installed air conditioning. Original color is the RARE Goldenglow Yellow - with a white top. This is a great car to drive and have fun or repaint to original color and have a rare timepiece that will only continue to increase in value. According to Hagerty valuation the average value on a 1956 Thunderbird is well over 30K and on the rise. Body is very solid and in real good shape, frame is in excellent shape, floors are solid, trunk is very solid, interior is good, carpet is decent, dash is nice. New brakes, and new tires! Good exhaust - the exhaust on these cars exit out the side of the bumpers - it is a super stylish car. Paint is faded and dull in areas as well as touched up in a few areas, and is an older paint job. Could use a paint job if you want to show it or you could drive it like it is ...it still turns heads and gets a lot of compliments. All gauges work including the Clock! Starts right up - runs and drives great! Drove it a few hundred miles for a joy ride last weekend! Fun car to take for a summer cruise! Thunderbird facts: Ford’s original two-seat Thunderbird was inspired by Chevrolet’s Corvette, Thunderbird has a removable fiberglass hardtop, as well as roll-up windows and V-8 power, all features unavailable to Corvette customers early on. The Thunderbird V-8 was a 292 cubic-inch Y-block topped by a single four-barrel carburetor. In 1956 as the standard 292 V-8 was up-rated to 202 horsepower. Additional updates for 1956 included available “portholes” for the removable hardtop and a Continental-style spare tire carrier out back which this car has both.
