Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 1969 Mustang Fastback/Sportroof 351 4spd M code car. I recently purchased this car and have not registered it under my name but do have a clear title in my possession and purchase history. It comes with a deluxe Marti Report which I purchased as well. I am selling this car simply because I have financial obligations and will be selling for less than I purchased it for. This is a nice running Mustang that needs to be finished as a driver, or further work to restore to show car. It was originally a San Jose, CA built car that went to West Texas, Arizona and North Carolina before coming home to California. I have the 1969 black CA plates (YOM) that go with this car. This car is laser straight, which means no significant body work/dent repair- is needed , and there are no signs this car has had any accident damage. The car does however have some rust in the trunk and in very small spots on the lower door of the passenger side. The body/paint is an original Winter Blue metallic and in pretty nice shape on the outside. The interior is original blue and shows its age. For someone wanting a "show" car it will need to be redone. Headliner is original and nice and potentially the only piece that could stay in place.during a restoration. The dash has no cracks and is in decent shape. The engine runs exceptionally well, but the gearbox will need some linkage adjustments as I normally only get only three forward speeds. The clutch pedal needs a new rebound spring installed (I am including that new part with the car). It runs really well and starts on the first turn always and on the highway its a beast. The suspension has had some bushings replaced and the exhaust has been recently redone, so the car drives well on the suspension. The tires should eventually be replaced and matched. If I could keep this car I would plan to make the necessary repairs on a budget of roughly $4,000. Interior redone, (keep dash and headliner in place), rust repairs and spot repaints, tires and wheels. Many of you could probably do that all for less. That would give you a beautiful Mustang in the low $20's. I just don't have the time or money to do that and want to see it go to a good home that will. Please read the description before contacting me. The Buy it Now is the price is what I will take, otherwise I will let the auction go. Thanks for looking. On May-05-14 at 12:14:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Just noting that although the odometer states 24,000 plus miles I believe it not to be accurate. I would say it is unknown or 124,000 if I were to guess. Prior owner only drove the car sparingly over the past 8 years. On May-07-14 at 11:07:44 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a matching numbers very original car. See photos of block and transmission. The engine has been rebuilt and runs extremely strong and reliable. This car just needs some work to be a solid driver, or take it a bit further to get to a number 2 car. This mustang also comes with 4 OEM original magnum wheels in addition to the Cragars that are on the car. I forgot to mention!
