Vehicle Detail
This sale is for a 1956 Ford F100 pickup truck. I consider this truck a prospective project for someone even though the truck is mechanically sound and driveable as is. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the truck. The truck was completely, frame off, restored some ten plus years ago, and although still a beautiful truck, needs some attention. But, consider having a project that you can drive while you work on it! This is a fun truck! If you are aware of the trend in sales, auctions such as Mecum and Barrett Jackson, included, then you are aware of the upward spiraling demand, prices and value of the F-100 Ford trucks. This truck, as a project, or otherwise, represents a good investment for fun and pleasure, and/or resale. Description: Body and frame: The frame consists of stock '56 frame rails with a Camaro front clip, professionally installed. Power steering, power brakes-discs up front and drums in the rear. Shaved doors with electric door entry system. Tilt hood. Manual cowl vent delete. No wipers. Custom headlights with built in turn signals. Rolled front pan and rear pan. Fibreglass fenders and running boards. New oak wood bed and stainless runners and hardware. New stainless original style tail and stop lights, plus custom lights in the pan. Underneath this truck looks great with fuel cell, dual exhausts, cleaned and painted frame rails, electric fuel pump on frame rail. The tail gate is an aftermarket item with custom latches and louvers. Caveat: The door poppers are old and do not work well. Sometimes the drivers door gets stuck. The paint on this truck is nothing short of gorgeous, but it is ten years old, or so, and has some wear/flaws showing. The fuel cell is a JAZ racing style 15 gallon cell with flush mounted cap. Sometimes the cap gasket sticks. JAZ explains that ethanol in gas is the problem. It makes the O-ring seal in the cap, swell up. The fix is to use only ethanol free gasoline, change gaskets/O-rings often (you can reuse them after you dry them out), or, to replace the flush mounted cap with a conventional filler tube and cap. I have one that JAZ provided in response to my problem, as an alternative. I will provide that to the successful bidder. The passenger side rear fender needs about a 3/4 inch adjustment to the running board. It will probably require elongating the fender mounting holes. Engine/transmission: 351 Windsor with .040 overbore and reworked heads. Holley dual feed Street Avenger Carburetor. Lots of polished engine dress-up items, including serpentine belt system with polished pulleys. Polished power steering pump and remote reservoir. High volume, high performance aluminum radiator with polished remote over-flow reservoir. Headers flowing into dual 2 1/2 exhaust and FlowMaster mufflers. Polished high output alternator and air compressor. MSD ignition. Recently overhauled FMX automatic transmission, shift kit and LOKAR floor mounted shifter. Caveat: The engine runs strong and does not overheat, even at expressway speeds up to about 65, but it does not like 70 and above in high summer temperatures. The starter is a ten year old, plus, mini-high torque and drags at restarts, sometimes. I have purchased and will provide the successful bidder a brand new replacement mini-high torque starter. Interior: Leather look premium vinyl upholstery with built-in polished air conditioning ducts. Dash is painted to match the exterior. Three position seat belts. Power windows. New Autometer guages, including speedometer and tachometer. Vintage air and heat. Stereo radio with a 4 speaker system. Caveat: The seat has rust stain-I don't know whether something like CLR would take care of it, or not? Tires and wheels: Toyo Proxes TPT tires, size 235 55R17 (front and rear), mounted on American Racing wheels. Like new tread. Terms/provisos: Under "caveats," above, I have tried to describe the things that might need attention for your project. But, this truck is driveable, as is, and lot's of fun. If you desire additional information about any of these matters, please ask. Interested parties, please complete your due diligence during the bidding period. I will promptly respond to all questions. Buyer remorse, after the fact, will not be indulged. Come see and drive the truck. It is located in Canton, Georgia, just off I-575. Georgia is not a title state for a vehicle of this age; a Georgia Bill of Sale will be provided. If you are a resident of Georgia, sales tax is required on the final purchase price. Any resultant sale is "where is, as is!" Nothing over and above what is declared here will be part of the sale-ask all questions during the bidding period. The Buyer is responsible for shipping/transportation of the truck. I will assist the successful bidder in picking up the truck, your transport company, or whatever. The information I am providing herein is based on the best data I have available to me, including what I was told about the truck by the previous owner, but none of this information represents a warranty of fact or condition. You, and you alone, are responsible for determining the condition of the subject truck and its value. Your bid is a contract! Truck is for sale locally, and otherwise, and this auction, at my discretion, can be ended at any time. Payment: The successful bidder will be required to pay a $500.00 deposit through PayPal within 48 hours after the bidding stops. The balance of the purchase price will be due and payable to me within a seven (7) day period, starting when the bidding stops, and payable in cash or bank certified check (as noted elsewhere). The truck cannot be picked up until the necessary funds clear my bank. Your $500.00 is not refundable! This truck is going to go "hot", don't miss it!
