2nd owner. I bought the car with 37, 618 miles on it. I've done regular oil changes. The Bad: It runs but will only make it about a half mile before overheating and spraying coolant everywhere. Overheated a couple months ago and blew the head caskets/cracked the head. My mechanic said it might be worse, but they wouldn't know for sure until they got into working on it. I'd just rather put the money into a newer car at this point. Recently got married and there's a baby in the future. Love this car though! If you can fix cars or know someone who can do it on the cheap, there's still plenty of miles left on it. Ideal situation would be if you already had an engine, but if you're good with fixing engines that would work too. Check Engine light has been on for a while. It's an error related to the Catalytic converter. Might need a new one, might just be a hole that needs to be patched up. Since it doesn't affect how the car runs (with my apologies to the ozone), I didn't feel the need to put money into it since I was getting by. FYI - I was able to turn it off long enough to get it inspected last year.The paint job on Subarus from this era was crap. There's a lot of chips on the hood. The paint is completely gone from the intake and it's peeling pretty bad off the spoiler. No rust though.The Good: Newer tires. Only about 10,000 miles on them. All seasons. I got them with 121,456 miles. They still have a lot of tread. New starter. Purchased/Installed in late November.New battery from AAA with 3-year free replacement warranty.
